Are you talking about the dvd caddy? Should I assume that friction, alone, won't hold it in?

Yes, the DVD caddy. Not sure if it stays in without screws. Even if, there is no handle to grab it from outside, except you put some hook into the slot. Putting in the HDD caddy does not even have the slot, so there is even less option to pull it out without removing the bottom cover.

I ordered an external bay for the DVD which can be connected to USB in the rare case I need the DVD. That is about 30€.

BIOS A03 fixed the regular DVD seeking on my m6800.

So a better Touchpad Config UI and a working Enduro are two points I would like to see addressed.

Btw. Enduro/Powerplay was working in the delivered Windows 7 installation. So it seems to be a Windows 8.1 issue. Hoping to see an 8.1 driver in the next few days as the official 8.1 availability gets closer.

A03 fixed the DVD seeking on mine as well. Thanks for the link (although a search could not find the update). I would have liked the 1920 x 1200 resolution.

I got that link from an RSS feed for m6800 drivers:

    Product Selection | Dell US

Strange, that the download page does not list it.

Yes, the return of wuxga would have been nice.
FullHD made it easy for me to stick to my m6500 a while longer.
But USB 3, more SATA III and a new haswell made me pull the trigger...

I was just informed by my rep that my order was cancelled due to the touchscreen not being in stock or there being some major problems with them at manufacture.

I'm not too fussed as I never really asked for the touchscreen and I got them to give me a free advanced port replicator 2. He said he might even be able to throw in a monitor too.

Just means it's delayed another 2 weeks though which is worse than no touchscreen

Which model did you have ordered? I just had to cancel and reorder the 6800 covet, with touch screen. Pushed me back to the 23rd, but they never mentioned any problems with that part...

I'm beginning to think that they are giving us any excuse they can, due to some other major issue :/

Mine was a custom order. See my post back a few pages.

But was told it was only the screen and my rep was pretty annoyed too because they lied to him for 2 weeks about it. Can't blame him they pushed the model out too early.

I'm a bit worried by the fact fans are going to 2600k RPM in idle, is it really annoying ? Is it happening often ?
Aside this, how much noisy or quiet is the M6800 comparing to the M6700 ?
The M6700 is suppose to be almost silent in idle, is it the case for the M6800 ?
Is it quiet in medium load ?
I own a MacBook Pro so it is my only reference point but looking for a powerfull Windows laptop.
