I just took out my M6700 to check on the lid flex and I have to really push on mine to get it to flex. Most of the display assembly moving is caused by the locking mechanism letting the display move a little bit. If it weren't for me being budget concious, I'd already be rocking a M4800 with the IGZO QHD+ display. I might at that some time next spring.

Is Dell planning on bringing the QHD+ to the 6800's? It only makes sense for the larger screen ot have the higher resolution but I guess panel availability is the issue here.

No word on QHD+ panels in the M6800. For the moment, you can expect that it won't be happening.

I personally suspect that the reason for this is that it will be more difficult to get a panel manufacturer on board for this, as volume for 17" panels is much lower than it is for 15" panels. Still, hopefully we'll see them eventually.

I suspect that's due mainly to the much lower demand for the larger system (the 14/15 is the laptop sweet spot), which is no doubt why Apple dropped their 17" model.

Well for the RGB IPS model, there is actually a gap between the top lid and the screen panel. The panel is essentially hanging between the brackets.

Could you upload a graphic card's data capture such as GPU-Z or AIDA64? I am interested in Firepro m6100. Thanks.

It's probably both, I think the QHD+ is a Samsung panel, the same one Samsung announced a few months ago.

And dammit, Dell Canada wants $2800 for a M4800 that has one. One day maybe... ;)

I would love to see pictures of this, when someone gets his please let me see!

Well that flaw is not unique to Dell: my HDX has the same gap--but with no brackets! A design flaw that hopefully will be remedied come the next case design update.

I didn't thought it is a flaw to be honest. Just a observation as why the top lid may flex. It may serve a purpose to protect the panel, but who knows.

The tools don't seem to recognize much: gpu-z show m6100, GPU 6640, 4096 MB memory (should be 2GB) all other values are at 0 or -1

hwinfo64: shows Radeon HD 8950, -1024 KB, ROPs 16, GPU clocks 13.6 Mhz, memory 216 Mhz.

I cannot get Enduro/PowerPlay to work.

I installed Intel and AMD drivers from Dell and there is no Power option in CCC, only Hydra.
With AMD driver 13.9 I get more options but still Power is missing.

Can I expect the FirePro to consume no power when I disable it in the device manager?
