In the peak scenarios, I need the laptop to provide 2D video 2k to 4k 24fps upscaling using madVR renderer and JINC3 algoritm. I could use the CUDA for video decoding, but the GPU will be definately busy with the pixel processing, so I will utilise the CPU here. According to available tests, I need at least HD7750 up to HD7770 performance from the graphics card.

The firepro M6100 in the M6800 should be in that ballpark, the higher end quadros too except where OpenCL performance is concerned. The M5100 and quadro K2100M are your best bet given that. The M5100 looks similar in specs to the Firepro M6000 which was around what an HD7750 (desktop) could do. Clocks are somewhat lower than on the M6000 though.

Apples to apples my friend. These are dramatically different machines of which Mac offers no equivalent.

Dell rep gave me a few hours with a M4800 with the 3200x1800 panel.

According to the Spyder 4 Elite, the panel covers slightly more than sRGB. Has one of the lowest (best) Deltas that I have seen on any notebook or desktop monitor.

    This panel is very accurate.

Well ,if you need really high speed for your SSDs, Raid 0 will allow to reach up to 900 in read and write. Nevertheless, even a single SSD reach 540 read 520 write so it's only if you need high speed acess to your files and programs. Nevertheless, with Raid 0, if one of your SSDs broke, you lost all your data. Also, I would recommend you to choose Samsung's SSDs, they are the leader in SSD and often other companies manufacturing SSDs will have Samsung's components.

How were the viewing angles? Did you notice any 'Screen Door' effect? How would you say it compares to your m6700 IPS screen? (understanding it's not an IPS RGB).

    Thanks and Regards.

Ordered the m4800 last week. Planning to install an hdd next to the ssd it comes with. But I can't make up if the optical bay caddy is included.(nor will the helpdesk tell me...)
Is it? Can't find it in the dell shop either as a seperate object. Just 3rd party online.
