My personal observation is that the Control Point sRGB and Adobe RGB modes are less than optimal. NTSC mode or not using Control Point are my two preferences.

Try setting the display brightness around 7 and see if the colors are closer to what you are used to.

Thats fine for the internal display but what happens when you dock to your External monitors? Does your colormeter software manage the profiles for that?

Or does it switch automatically based on docked/undocked profile?

I'm still trying to learn, so please forgive my ignorant questions. If you disable the NVIDIA display driver service then what "drives" the display? At that point are you using a generic windows display driver?

How is it that the GPU still works if the display driver service is stopped? Is GPU operation separate from the display driver? (Maybe the GPU is controlled by the Performance Driver service?)

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

Glad I switched to the non glare type, seems good high end notebook screens are becoming harder and harder to find. I hate these new screens and I own 20 laptops at this time. Soon 21 =)

Do both the ATI and Nvidia cards support audio over displayport or only ATI? Although displayport allows for the transmission of audio lotsa manufacturers didn't implement it. Since I frequently have to present on beamers and plasma's/lcd's I would rather not use the vga out.

Mine was ordered on the 15th of December (in the UK) and is currently showing 1st Feb as expected delivery date. :( I've been promised they will now fast track it to get it to me sooner, but apparently there is a shortage of a key part, they didn't say which.

Same here, replace the 5300 card with the Dell 1510.....all he would do was send me the 5300 card separately for free.....I mentioned an upgrade for the processor to the 920M, and he said that was a large upgrade and they couldn't do it....I did have the 1220. discount though....I'll install the wireless card myself....the 5300 card is in my Precision m4400 running on Win7Pro x64,,,,has to be a problem with their own software.

Looks like it's been pushed back into Feb, although he says they'll try to expedite it.....I'm not going to hold my breath....:p

    HI Zoid,

You ordered with the 920xm? That is already the fastest mobile processor that you can get from Intel.

    http://ark.intel.com/

Unless you go to a desktop i7 extreme edition or a desktop xeon quad core... youve already got the fastest there is. :D

And congrats gripper on the upgraded CPU! I was not aware of the win7 64 conflict with the intel 5300... but sounds like it worked out to your advantage :)
