I might have overlooked the webcam driver but I cannot find a driver or .inf file for the display.
I did however find a tool on the Dell support site where I can switch between NTSC, sRGB and Adobe RGB colour profiles which sort of is what I was looking for (some display controls outside of the graphic card driver controls).

just stuck 32 gig of corsair vengeance into mine with no issues, I do have however real problems with a 120g Nocti running alongside 2 crucial M4's in raid.

it doesn't seem to securely sit in the slot and I think a few heat cycles compromises the connector so thought it best to remove it completely till my new base section and mobo arrives from the states,

originally got machine from ebay last year and it has run fine bit the lower casing has a bump on it and tbh it has been bugging me so just purchased a complete base section with motherboard, cpu fan and base cover for £150 delivered, so hoping the customes isn't to excessive and I'll stick my original mobo and bits on ebay once its all transferred

p.s. using throttle stop I can rum wprime stable at 29x with the 940xm [3.85ghz] cracking little machine

Installed an Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 Card in my M6500

    One driver will not install from dialog box;

"Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 X No driver found"

Used Intel PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7 64 bit

    Any suggestion or possible solutions?

    Thank You

    Joseph

My m6500 worked great for 6 full months - a record on this forum? :)

But now the graphics card (NVIDIA FX3800M) has crapped out. I recall several users here having problems, and eventually persuading Dell to send them a different/better card.

Should I let Dell send a replacement FX3800M, or should I lean on them to give me a newer/'better card? If the latter, what should I ask for?

    Any advice much appreciated!

Mine has been fine for 2 years now...I too have the FX3800M. I didn't know the card was swappable; or maybe I've been off the forum too long :)

Mine was replaced last June. So far, everything are ok. Asking for a newer or different spec from the original purchased is not covered by the warranty.
They will only replaced it with the same model. Thats what happened to me.
After it was replaced, I was advised to keep the laptop clean. Using a brush and a vacuum cleaner.

Have been a while since I check or ask something in the forum, mainly because my M6500 was working fine, no lockups, blue screens or anything at all.

About 1 month ago I have a weird problem, and neither me or the dell customer support are able to solve.

    About my m6500 is a i7-x920, 16gb 1333mhz ram, 128gb Sansung SSD & 500gb hitachi 7200 rpm, 1gb ati firepro m7740. 3 dimms and the hitachi are aftermarket.

The problem is hard to explain but the closer description I can say is like a "slow-motion effect" and the only way to notice it is when playing music, video or playing any 3d game. It goes like a slow motion for about 1 to 5 seconds, the sound is distorted and the video goes to 5 fps. No error messages or blue screens are show at all.

For my part I have tested all the individual dimms for errors, express test the computer, both with dell diagnostic tool, no errors at all. I have formated my computer and reinstalled everything 2 times. From dell they replaced my motherboard with a new one.

The only diagnostic able to see the problem was with DPC Latency Checker, and program to check if your system is able to live stream video/audio (for professional use).

Right now my last hope seems to work for now, I tried the System Mechanic, and app that was advertised in dell site Free PC Health Check | Dell. But I'm pretty sure that this fix is temporal, and the problem recides in the hardware.

Any ideas what is causing this problem? because I'm out of them :(

    Hi,

I'm need to install 32GB so that I can support more VMs.

I have used Crucial in the past and I found some on NewEgg

    CT2KIT102464BF1339

an 8GBx2 kit for about $154.99
    Newegg.com - Crucial 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT102464BF1339

I went to the Crucial website to check for compatibility with a quad core M6500 but according to their website they direct me to the CT2286470 8GBx2 kit that sells for $239.
    16GB kit (8GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 upgrades for Dell Precision M6500 (Quad Core) Laptop/Notebook, CT2286470 from Crucial.com

The specs on both kits look the same to me. Would I be okay installing the kit from NewEgg?

    Thanks!

    Ben
