    Great, I´ll try it.
Do you know where to get a complete HOWTO for the CPU upgrade process?
    Perhaps youtube?
    Cheers

Nope. I know my M6500 shipped 6/2010. It was shipped with only 2 dimm slots. The other two dimm slots underneath the keyboard had no cover, nor dimm slot brackets. The bare pins could be seen.

Dell is very much still shipping 2 dimm slot motherboards.

Also the issue with the motherboards was never the dual core vs quad core. The real issue was people receiving quad core m6500's with only 2 dimm slots.

We tested around 8 types of paste and believe it or not the best thermal paste we found was the stuff Dell sends in a tube that looks like a syringe. We also found that the best results were achieved with a small pea sized ball of paste in the very middle of the processor and then letting the heat sink spread it. I know this goes against a lot of what people and companies post online - but it works. We get the best temps and best evenness of temps across quad core processors.

Hi folks! I just noticed Dell released a BIOS A06 today, anyone try it already? Under the description there are only 2 fixes:

    1. Enhanced Trackstick function with dock.
    2. Updated Nvidia GF100 video memory in setup

    What happend with A05??

Thank you and rattler for both the doc reference and the first hand proof.

Since my GS20N's been shiesty at best (maybe a 50% success rate burning anything), I wonder if there'd be a way to get the bluray drive replacement and pay the difference through their support channels (I have NBD and any other warranty I could've purchased through SMB).
