Which video card? The default Nvidia settings have Digital Vibrance turned up past neutral.

Update - There are some new nvidia driver out which now let you adjust gamma.

Can anyone tell me if they have this driver (260.89) and by increasing the gamma it causes the screen to pixelate?

I too have the same problem as you describe, had the machine 5 days, I set my desktop background to Solid Black and you can see very harsh noise on the taskbar, if you unlock the taskbar and expand it you can clearly see it.

As you say it can be ignored but since I assume it will be a digital link to the screen where is the noise coming from.

I think I will contact Dell as well, not sure I want to live with it either.

Hello everyone, new forum member here !

I've got a quick question concerning my M6500 that I just got last week : sometimes the laptop starts to make a little "clicking" noise (every 5 seconds or so) which seems to be coming from an area near the power button. Sometimes it stops for quite a long time, and sometimes it can last an hour (which is pretty annoying as you can guess).

Any ideas on what it could be ? Doesn't seem to be coming from the hard drive ... (or could it be ?)

    Thanks in advance !

Thank you very much! , I think that pretty much seals the deal on me sending this thing back.... I love the notebook but its hard for me to accept something so funky on a top of the line workstation. If the RGBLED screen doesn't have that issue I might take that route. the 3D scores on the M7820 are incredible so I would love to stick with that model if possible, maybe I will wait until the quadro 5000 comes out. who knows , I just want to put this week of wasted time behind me LOL

As soon as I try to move the slider above 50% contrast the screen pixelates and goes all weird.

Am I safe to assume the gfx card is a dud?

Edit: I think my screen is faulty as on an external monitor (2709) I can increase the contrast, yet on the rgbled I can not )

Hi guys, I'm still looking for somewhere to download the Catalyst Control Centre for the M7820 which I recently uninstalled when I was trying to figure out why AutoCAD 2011 was having some problems. I can find drivers and the download manager on the ATI website, but not the actual control centre which means that I cannot adjust any of my screen properties!!!

Go here : Drivers & Downloads

You should find what you're looking for under the "Video" sub-menu, the driver here has the CCC with it.
