Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been looking for that thread, but I couldn't find it. :D I'll give him a call, hopefully he will be more professional than the other sales team.

Lucas Barbian at Dell will treat you professional and take care of you, trust me I have gone through a few reps at Dell myself and this guy is a manager not just a sale rep. So there seems to be no games and he does return calls. At least he does for me. :D Good luck.

Thanks ingenuitor, do you think it worth my time to cancel my previous order and re-order with Luke? Based on my experience, I would really hate it if the unprofessional sales trolls I have been dealing with got the commission.

    Skypk,

If it were me, before canceling an order I'd consider when the current order is scheduled to be completed... then I might try calling Luke just to see if he thinks canceling and then re-ordering through him would get the laptop to arrive any sooner or if you'd get any incentive ordering through him

If it meant waiting another 20 or 30 days then I don't think I'd cancel... but if the incentives of canceling and reordering were significant enough then I might.

I have been dealing with Dell for over 10 years now in the large business area.

My first rep would bend over backwards I had a very close relationship with her and she would get me things when I needed it and the pricing I wanted overall.

But ever since she moved on, I have had some extremely dead beat reps.
Since they are the only interface you have with Dell those reps become the face of the company. But lets face it guys these people are inside sales.

They have multiple customers, operate on very small margins and high pressure from management to perform. They only care about getting your order through. Ship dates and production times they have absolutely no control over aside from expediting it.

And here is what my rep told me:

Since this product was just announced December 1st and they are made to order I think its pretty unreasonable to expect a quick turn around.

Also keep in mind government and large business accounts take priority over small business and home user orders as well.

I guess that's why I expect so much from them, since I've been dealing with them in the federal government area for the past 5 years, guess I forgot what it's like when your spending an insignificant amount of money. Anyhoo, I divorced my last sales rep :D (felt sooo good), placed a new order with an estimated ship date of 25 January. I really don't mind waiting, I just didn't appreciate the non-responsiveness from the last sales team. :D

And by the way, whatever happened to those high res. pictures :D (users who received their M6500)? Guys, come on, please give the non M6500 users something to look at. :D

If I'm not mistaken, somebody received their M6500 today (6 January). ;)
