    soon to be owner of a M6500 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 500GB 7200rpm HDD

First thing I will do is wipe the system, format drives and completely install Win7.

OS shall be on the SSD, HDD for audio work/recording.

I have a audio sample library (~160GB) that has to reside on the SSD as well.

    1) Shall I create two partitions on the SSD (System; Samples)
    2) Is repartioning possible with a SSD (no SSD experiences)
    3) Anything to consider when repartioning (aligning for example?)
    4) Anything to consider in the BIOS when using SSD for OS?
    5) Anything to consider in the OS settings when using SSD for OS?

    Thank you!

Most likely he reinserted the keyboard incorrectly. There are several screws on its underside whose heads must fit into holes in the plastic cover underneath the keyboard. But they only do if you place the keyboard flat on the cover and then slide it horizontally into the port.
I assume your technician first wanted to match the port and then lowered the keyboard, which leads to a buckle on the left side of the keyboard. The same did I when I first checked for my RAM and the same did my technician when he replaced my main board.

Mine had no notebook at all. Should that bother me? ;)

Thanks for the advice -- I'll have a look in a bit and report back. The keyboard looks to be perfectly flat, though. I know of the nooks you are talking about, though. Same on my old M65.

Nope, shouldn't whatsoever! Just found it slightly funny :)

I just had a look at the laptop, and opened it up. I can't see anything visible at the keyboard, as everything docks right into place where it should. However, the keyboard AND the case are bulging outwards. I have linked a picture below, where you can see a few angles. Sorry about it being a bit blurry on some of the shots ;)
Anyhow, you can see (by the white line I have drawn along the side of the bulging laptop) that the middle drops on the left hand side to curve downward a little, where the right does not. The keyboard is also bulging upwards.

Any clues, anyone? :\ I could call Dell and make them come and fix what they misassembled, but if I can do it myself... ;)

    Cheers!

Won't take it fully apart just today -- too many things to do :)

When you take the keyboard off you'll see what they did wrong. Look under the keyboard and you'll see something that almost appears dial shaped. Not sure if it has to do with the backlighting or what, but when reinstalling the keyboard, you almost have to lay it down slightly above where it's supposed to go, and then slide it downwards to fit appropriately and line up with the screws. This gets that "object" under the keyboard into it's appropriate spot. Pretty sure that's what's causing your keyboard to bulge.

Cheers, will have a look tomorrow :) Here's hoping that fixes it :]

Then it's off to call Dell about why the GPS chip is not installed although I was told I'd have it installed alongside mobile broadband (whoops, that's not installed, either!)... They told me to confirm whenthe Dell technician came and then call them back about it.

*sigh*... loving this computer, but the music on the Danish support line when on hold is wretched!

i tried using the email tech chat, only bc im not too worried about my problems right now. They were quite quick with their responses but once it was concluded my problem was due to faulty hardware (point stick failure, and BT module not working) they just disappeared. Hopefully phone support is better.

When you talk to phone support, make sure you get the name and division they work for. Then, whenever you continue to have an issue, you can call and ask for the same guy. Makes it a whole lot easier than having to explain your case to 12 different people :)
