Ordered on the 30th of December, supposed to ship today, stuck in "build" stage according to the phone order status system. Customer service says manufacturing is waiting on RGBLED LDCs and it will be at least another week. :(

From my understanding and at least with OCZ drives is Trim support only works in AHCI mode in Windows7. So if you choose the hardware raid option it is disabled.

To check to see if Trim is active start a command prompt as administrator and run:

    fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify

If the result is 0 then Trim is on.

I doubt it but it depends what you plan to do, it will cost more and give marginal at best increases.

IMHO disk access is still the performance bottle neck even with ssd's, after that unlike p4 days the cpu can get at the data fast enough but needs time to churn through it. Remember 8megs cache is a lot, hell there are entire embedded systems that could fit inside it so small calcs wouldn't spend much time going out to system memory.

Just an FYI. Had an issue with the battery light flashing orange orange orange blue. This is the code you usually see when a battery is at the end of its life. Dell has a replacement battery on the way. Dell Prosupport kicks butt.
