For those interested I successfully added backlit keyboard to my E5470 with single point device (no pointing stick) using the keyboard from a E7350, Dell PN PXWGK. These are only ~$22 on eBay. The backlit power flex cable was a tight fit as it has an added bend in it, but with some persuasion it tucked in just fine. It powered up and was recognized immediately and the FN10 works for 2 intensities and disabling.

I've ensured both are enabled, have tried both AHCI and Raid modes in the windows installer but can't see the drive in diskpart

The main bios status page does say some stuff about connected drives(need to scroll down)

I was able to see some numbers for my m.2 card in wwan slot(think they were the serial number), and obviously my 2.5" ssd

Thanks, I don't appear to be able to see it though :/ I've double checked these settings are correct - I don't suppose Dell would have shipped a variation of the board where the WWAN port isn't linked to the SATA bus?

they do have 3 variants (if you look a few pages back on this thread), one variant does not have 2.5" sata slot soldered at all

When was your motherboard manufacturered? Think mine was 12/15

Specs?(i5/7 ulv or HQ etc)? Everyone else here has a 512gb mts400 unfortunately

    Reseat the module?

I installed the M.2 SSD. I set the BIOS to AHCI. I had to put the optical drive into legacy mode as it would not boot to the Windows disc otherwise. I'm using my trusty UJ-242, which has never failed before, but somehow, when I go to install Windows, it keeps telling me the CD/DVD driver is missing. When I put said driver on a USB stick to search for it, it doesn't see the USB drive or the M.2 SSD, so I'm unsure what my next step is.

according to this, some w7 x64 ISO/discs don't contain the proper uefi boot manager?
    http://m.easy2boot.com/add-payload-files/win7-uefi/

I would download the latest w7 ISO from Microsoft with service packs streamlined , and use Rufus/windows ISO tool to put it on a flash drive

(Microsoft used to offer it thru their digital river distributor. Now,you need to input a serial number on ms's site to download ISO. Might be complicated)

Or just "fix" your current ISO using the steps mentioned

Interesting that my disk is a Dell disk with SP1. It also has bootx64.efi file that the article states is missing and causing the boot issues, so I guess I'm back to looking for an answer.

I presume that you have disabled SecureBoot and followed Dell's instructions.

(I don't have first hand knowledge of this process - I'm making do with the supplied Windows 10.)
