After closer review, the mobo appears to more align with the E5450 which also shows the same two unpopulated headers near the m.2 NGFF port (these appear to not be the same as the SATA header as the pin count is too low). One is labeled JLPDE1 and the other ref des is hidden under the body. I have also entertained the idea of a m.2 to SATA converter but images show a 2.5" drive takes up the whole volume with little room for added converter accessories... maybe a 3 mm 2.5" drive ;)

Is that the default or do I need to do something?

i5-6440HQ, 8GB, 180GB m.2 Intel SSD, AMD Radeon R7 M360, FHD Touch, non-backlit keyboard with single pointing device (no pointing stick or second row of mouse buttons). As I'm typing this in the dark I am wishing it had backlit... Looks like UK version has a single pointing device keyboard with backlit, PN 01PM8M / 1PM8M.

    edit: bad quote.

I think sata ahci and legacy boot was default on mine

Just go thru the bios setup and verify. And disable stuff(parallel port for example) to speed up boot

The person with dgpu+1 dimm had an i7 6600u ulv

Has anybody had any luck using an SSD in the WWAN port under the latest 1.8.3 BIOS? My 256GB MTS400 doesn't appear to want to play ball, even after forcing a bios downgrade to 1.4.7 using the USB recovery method.

I updated to latest BIOS before I even tried the ssd in the wwan slot. Did you look in disk manager for the unpartitioned drive?

Yes, I looked in there before trying the BIOS downgrade. Back on 1.8.3 now, but still no sign of it. I have tested it in the main m.2 slot where it works perfectly, but when moved to the wwan port the laptop appears not to recognise it.

Check your bios settings, make sure you don't have sata1(I think wwan points tosata1, check my posts from Marchon this thread ) or wwan slot disabled accidentally
