    dual boot or clean install?

If dual boot, I would highly suggest to disable the other slot(m.2 2280/2.5") before installing (as uefi build, existing w10 must be uefi as well) . That way, each storage has its own boot partition, shouldn't interfere with each other (see harryw66 above)

(Believe dell installed everything via legacy bios boot mode... I have uefi for both my boot drives, never tested dual boot using legacy mode)

You can still control ordering of boot drives in uefi(or f12 to select theboot drive during boot)

As for harryw66, very hard to do technical support like that over the net. I would just remove the m.2 2240 drive and try getting the windows 7 boot partition to work again

Someone else confirmed that e5470 dgpu only has one dimm and no 2.5" space(only m.2 2280).. trying to get a picture from them and confirmation that wwan m.2 2242 works too

    Hi,
Can you tell me what your other relevant options are e.g. Advanced Boot Options.
I decided to remove the main SSD and just leave the Transcend in place and then install Windows 10 from a USB boot disk.
Installation goes OK, but once I remove the USB boot disk, I can no longer boot into Windows.
It tried to do a network boot -which I abort it then says no boot devices! I then disabled all devices except Sata-1 and it still says no boot devices.
I checked my bios and I dont see any UEFI entry in the Boot Sequence menu as per your video and selecting Add Boot gives me a 'No file system found'
Note that I could only access the USB boot disk if I enable Legacy Boot support under the Advanced Boot options.
I used Rufus to create the Windows 10 USB boot disk...

EDIT: Ok it seems I picked the wrong Rufus option when creating my boot disk- should have gone for EFI / GPT. I had previously selected the MBR option - so I guess Windows 10 did a legacy kind of install.
I just created the USB disk again with Rufus using the EFI/GPT instead and it seems to be working.....

Advanced boot option ("enable legacy option Roms" is disabled)

Sata operation is set to ahci

Boot sequence, boot list option set to uefi

    Secure boot disabled

Are you able to find the windows efi file in the boot sequence (per my YouTube video)?

    Hi,
    thanks for the response.
I just posted an EDIT - seems my Rufus settings were wrong!
Cheers again for the quick reply.

    Most likely a clean install.

i would suggest installing everything under UEFI + SATA AHCI, not under legacy boot

other than that, nothing much to suggest

I just got the E5470 from the outlet with a dedicated graphics. Due to limited photos I wasn't sure what I could do with a 2.5" drive for extra storage. Suspicions are confirmed that the dGPU takes up the space in the 2.5" area, there looks to be PCB layout for some sort of headers but they were not installed. My version does have a second expandable memory slot though. I dropped a 256GB m.2 in the WWAN slot and it was recognized in Windows with no issue, although as other have mentioned is comes up as a removable drive.... doesn't really matter since it is used for storage anyways. Not sure my plan forward now that I can't fit a 2.5", looking at getting a bigger 2280 m.2 or pcie card....

New account so it seems I can't attach photos.

now that's strange.... so we have 3 versions of mobos?

dgpu, one version with 1 dimm, second version with 2 dimm
    igp, 2 dimm, 2.5"/m.2 2280?

from your pics, I see the longer heatsink (my IGP's heatsink stops midway, see below),but there should still be space for a 2.5" drdive?

Here is a whole body shot...

    https://goo.gl/photos/5Dg5Ra8L5biCprAW8

The dGPU circuitry extends into the 2.5" drive area under the m.2 2280 slot. The m.2 uses a smaller bracket (PN P5Y8H) to hold down than the iGPU mobo configurations. There are two unpopulated headers which look similar size to the SATA ports on the iGPU mobo. Maybe a 5mm 2.5 drive would squeeze in there above the circuitry but I still have no SATA header to plug into (there is a 3rd SATA device listed in the BIOS). I have toyed with the idea of locating the connector and have a tech at my work soldering it on; probably after the 1 year warranty is up.

Anyone figure out the WWAN slot coming up as a removable drive?
