I do apologize to all of you that I haven't been submitting my results on my M6600. My current M6600 is dead (literally dead) paperweight sitting on my desk. I am still waiting anxiously for my replacement M6600. Once I got it, I will give you my impressions of it.

A Dell Technician might have short circuited the motherboard when he was reassembling a new palmrest with a swipe fingerprint scanner for me last week.

Man they should at least turn it on to see if it even turns on.

yea i always run a diagnostic while the tech is still there. i wait till the basic stuff clears then let it continue running after they leave.

by right when you sign for the service you have to verify they used ESD precautions and run diagnostics

He did use ESD and I did boot it while he was there and it failed to turn on or POST. The thing is he was running out of time for our appointment when he was there and he was very inexperienced with the machine (there were extra screws left behind that weren't there before he started working) so it must be a few things here and there that might have caused it. I ended up calling Dell right afterwards than since they got my replacement unit incorrectly specced from the factory anyways (if they did I wouldn't of ask for a tech to touch my new laptop and install the bits left out from the factory in the first place) and they complied and agreed to send me a new M6600 with the right specifications entitled from the replacement policy of my M6500.

So it was a win-win for me that the tech's mishap gave me the evidence to straighten things out with Dell's Technical Support and give me a proper M6600 that I should deserved in the first place. The only problem is I am still waiting for it.

Well, I'm sure they care about your computer as much as a best buy employee cares about saving you money.

Yes, how does mSSD (boot HD1) work with RAID 1 for HDs 2 and 3?
How safe is this system if OS and apps on the boot mSSD are not mirrored on the RAID 1 HDs?

Does anyone hear constant clicking from their M6600? I have a new one with an 2920XM/Quadro 4000M/Intel SSD 510/320 GB Scorpio. It clicks about every 5-10 secs. Very audible though not necessarily metal. I have all the energy saving turned off for 3D rendering. Sometimes it sounds like it's coming from the Scorpio. It is older, but never used. Sometimes it sounds like it's coming from the Left fan. Hard to tell so far.

It does this idle or when used.

    Any clues?

    Thanks
