A quick question, I'm looking at the m8900 on hwinfo64 and am a bit confused/concerned.

Gpu is read as radeon hd 6970m
There is a gpu fan as well as a system and CPU fan
Gpu temps have hit over 70c and speed is set at 680/900 max and 100/150 under no or little use.
Gpu fan speed set at 30%

    CPU has hit over 65c
What is the gt core (gpu?)

Also the memory clock speed on trixx says 3000 some and I'm not sure how to set it

As a sidenote, i ran pc/3d mark tests on a table surface with no cooling pad and indoor temp of about 75 degrees. Is this the same settings for people who had temp readings under 70-65 is what I want to know.

Also I apologize for any odd questions, I haven't used any current software to oc or hardware... for quite a few years. And what speeds do you want the tests to run at?

Same here, it was a bit confusing at first that the hwinfo64 was reading 8900 as 6970. to be exact mine says blackcomb 6970m xt.

My gpu temps started going haywire, it started rising from 50c and went up to 78c (even then the gpu fan was showing 5-10 rpm, wonder why?) then came down to 70-72c remain there for 10 mins and went back to normal (50-52c). It did remain to stay cool after that (even after I played for 30 mins). The GPU fan only kicked in when I was playing.

I have been working on a review for a pair of M6600s for a few days now. One with a Quadro 3000M and one with a 4000M. I have not posted anything yet because the review is not complete.

Is there anything specific that you want me to cover for you?

What are max speeds on the m8900 to test? And what should I do to change drivers to radeon 6970 or 6990?

Can you see if the TDP and TRL is adjustable with Throttle Stop 3.0?
If it can be adjusted means we can overclock these 2920xm equipped M6600.

    W510 Overclocking Guide- YouTube
Video of how to check the TDP and TRL. I just want to know if can be adjusted or is it locked with throttle stop. Each model is different. In the newer ones they might have locked the bios or not.

BTW: how much you pay for the system? With the 2920xm?

Hey wired360, think you can run the specviewperf benchmark for professional scores? Thanks for the 3dmark scores though!

Actually It's more than enough when you said that you are working on a double review. So I will wait and see.
Btw. I've already ordered mine with M8900 but still it will be interesting to see.
I prepared Crucial M4 128 GB SSD for main software stuff.
Every bit of info is helpful. Nothing specific tho (at the moment).
