Thanls for the info, Bokeh. BTW, the M6600 doesn't have the "flight power mode", wheteby the battery isn'nt charged even though it's connected and the charger is on. When a LI-ION battery is some 50% full it's supposed to last the longest; what method of preserving battery when on mains do you advise?

Finally got the Autodesk Master Suite 2011 disks so that I can install it.

Right now I am running with Optimus disabled. I use my machine docked 90% of the time and most meetings are less than an hour.

I will re-enable Optimus to see how it behaves with the new software.

Well as for people wondering about the battery life with ATI M8900 fire pro, I'm getting around 1hr 40min of battery life with medium brightness, wifi off, and watching a video via an external drive. Not too good I suppose.

Is anyone getting flickering on the screen when you have it dimmed to the lowest brightness setting and on battery? My screen flickers when on battery and fully dimmed and it is annoying on top of a film stain that I can't remove. I might have to ask Dell to get the screen replaced as well.

PS: With the 2620M and the M8900, my Battery Bar Pro application is telling me roughly 2 hours and 6 minutes of battery life. That is 10 minutes worse than the M6500 equipped with the i7-740QM and the M7820.

Thanks. Smaller, don't know (about the same I guess). Thinner, think so.
