How about from Quadro 4000M upgrade to K5000m? Can I use the same heatsink? Do I need to modify anything?

By the way, is anyone here know that do M6600 support 32GB (8gb x 4) RAM running at 1600mhz??

So Dell fixed my M6600 yesterday. The M8900 FirePro card was replaced with a M6100.
I have an HP Zbook 17 G2 with a DreamColor screen on order that should be shipping next week. With the pics of the M7710 leaked, I'm trying to decided if I should wait for the successor of the M6800.
If Dell's doesn't offer an IPS screen then I would have waited for nothing. How long do you think until it gets released?

Yes, this works. The tech specs indicate that 16GB is the max at DDR3-1600, because 8GB DDR3-1600 modules were not available at the time the M6600 was released, but people have since tried this and it works fine.

I've been told by HP source that the successor of the 17 g2 will be announced in September and available in October. It will have Skzlake Xeon and maxwell quadro on board. I'd wait for it or the new dell's.

That is good info. Thanks! If HP announces a new Zbook while I am in within the 30 day return period, I'll send it back. :) I decided to sell my M6600 on eBay. The M6600 was the best laptop I ever owned. If anyone is looking for one with the IPS screen, check it out here. It has good specs, (a brand new M6100 FirePro card) e-port plus dock, and 4 power adapters.

I found a used M6100 GPU on ebay for $135 on its way. This should keep me going for another few months while I sort out what the next system will be.

Thanks for your help baii and Aaron. I went from wanting to drop this thing in the trash to feeling like I could probably keep it for much longer than I was planning.

You will be pleased with m6100, twice the power of m8900 and less heat :)

I just picked up an M6600 myself and was considering picking up an LTE WWAN card as well. Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question directly, but one thing I noticed in my research is that all of the Dell LTE cards I saw have 3 connections for antennae (main, WWAN, and aux as seen in the picture of your link), but the M6600 is only wired for 2 antennae connections, or at least mine only has 2 wires. If you look at the WWAN cards that the M6600 was originally intended to carry, they only have 2 connections, so that might possibly be a hurdle to overcome. I was just going to bite the bullet and buy the card and see if it would work with just 2 connections, but maybe there is someone around here that has already tried it.

Ultimately I decided not to get the internal card as my current cell carrier (Verizon) offers a tablet with AP functionality included for much less than the total cost (hardware + monthly access) of adding the internal LTE card, so I plan on going that route. I imagine performance is slightly lower than having a dedicated card, but that won't be a factor for me.

Well, my initial thoughts was connect the unused WIFI antenna cable to the WWAN card (I m currently using the Intel wireless 7260 AC (2 x 2) and it has occupied only 2 antenna and left 1 unused, and the dell M6600 suppose come with 3 WIFI antenna) however, I m not sure that gonna work or not....

By the way, does anyone know this card (Dell Wireless 5808 Gobi(TM) 4G LTE Mobile Broadband) are fully functioning in UK/EU or not? or it just for strictly for US only?
