Probably wait a bit, new gen is coming soon, and I doubt they wont have any IPS option.

I would avoid m8900 tbh, it is just too hot.

Not sure how card are priced nowadays, but noticed m6100 price on eBay are jacked up for no reason. You can consider nvidia card like 670mx 675mx 680m, just move the thermal pad accordingly.

Edit: just looked up the price on eBay, these GPU aren't worth it imo. They are old tech and still sell at the same price as almost 2yrs ago. Ouch. A m6100 equipped m6600 only go for 500ish....

I bought a new m8900 off eBay for $150. I also ordered an HP zbook 17 G2 with the DreamColor screen.
Going to fix the the m6600 and put it up on ebay. I would have liked to wait for the Dell m6900 but there is no release date set and no idea if they will the IPS screen.

    Hi Guys,

Good news for you wanting to upgrade to Windows 10 and expect to do some gaming (and have the 8900pro)

I did the upgrade to 10 from 8.1 and for some reason it installed the HD6XXXM Drivers.

Needless to say the performance has been amazing. I gained like 25-30% performance in GTA V, it will not dip down 40 no matter what and there are 0 artifacts (I used to see black artifacts )

It stays around 40-50 in med/low settings which is pretty great considering.

I do not know if its the drivers or if its Windows 10 handling gaming better. Oh and yes I know this has nothing to do with DirectX12 since there is no support yet and it won't/can't be compatible with the card.

Thank you. Drivers from Radeons are far better in gaming than drivers from FirePro. I have also did the upgrade to Win 10. Everything went smooth apart from controlling the screen brightness. It did not work for FirePro M6100. I needed to change one thing in the registry:

    You need to find this:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000]

    and change this:

    KMD_EnableBrightnessInterface2

    to:

    0 ( instead of 1 )
