Anyone knows what Dell is offering as a M6600 system replacement in EU?

I've got notification from my rep that a system replacement is authorized but model was not mentioned. (List of issues was long but none was critical that stopped me from using notebook or made my work suffer)

I'm wondering what to do with 4x8gb ddr3 ram that i have - if they are still offering m6700 i might as well keep it, but if m6800 is something i'll get i'll need to return it and get ddr3l modules.

Thank for the help, the throttle still happens. Is there something I should be selecting once I start the program? Any setting that needs to be turned on in particular? or maybe some settings that would be good in particular to this laptop model?

    Thanks in advance!

PS: I am using version 7.00 of throttlestop

Take some screenshots and post them in the throttlestop thread in the hardware and aftermarket components section of the forum. Uncle Webb is extremely helpful and will generally know what you need to do (he wrote throttlestop).

It does help. My gpu can handle over 90 degrees, with quadro 4000M. You just have to enable (V) clock modulation (100%), and the gpu won't throttle.

In some situations, the CPU and GPU throttling are related. If the CPU starts running extremely slow, the GPU will slow down because it is waiting for the CPU to respond. When this happens, if you use ThrottleStop to prevent the CPU from throttling, this will allow the GPU to start running at its full rated speed too.

ThrottleStop is a multi-purpose tool that tries to cover a lot of different throttling problems in a lot of different laptops. It works best if you set it up to specifically take care of the problems that your laptop is having. If you are not sure what problems your laptop has then turn on the ThrottleStop - Log File option and then PM or email me the results. If you post this info in The ThrottleStop Guide thread, this keeps the mods happy and it is a lot easier for me to respond.

Has anyone tried a gtx 470m in the m6600?

It seems to be the best card available for <$120....

Hi guys, the AMD FirePro M8900 GPU in my sister's M6600 decided to die out so temporarily using the Intel GPU to get by for now. Been thinking of putting a gaming MXM card in as she never uses it for CAD work at all, plus it looks pretty painful when she does try to play GTA on it!

I’m deciding between a NVIDIA GTX 675M or an AMD 7970M card as they’re within budget but thought of getting some advice on whether it’s a simple plug and play job for the M6600 (if it works at all). Any advice and tips on what to look out for would be appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, I wasn't aware of the M6100 so could have a look into that. Is the gaming performance good on the M6100 despite being a workstation card?
