I cant find the thread/ post ~~ I believe if you restart one of the driver processes after windows start, then it will work.

I found in internet some M6700 with SSD in Raid0. Does it mean that the TRIM is working in M6700 or the laptop (M6700) has still no TRIM enabled? In M6600 as we know is not working.

Thanks Baiii, with your help I was able to figure it out. It didn't have to involve restarting the drivers though, all you do is go to the driver's folder (mine was located in: C:\Program Files\DellTPad), run the program called DellTPad.exe, go to touchpad settings > pointing stick, then uncheck the "TouchCheck" button and voila, the track point is now movable while typing at the same time!

Also I recommend to anyone that wants to use their pointing over the touch pad to replace the little plastic nub that comes with it. The original is black, flat, and very difficult to control, but if you take another nub from a different Dell or any other computer that is a different shape (they are all standard fit) it becomes so much so easier to use.

Turning off the drivers entirely works too, but that leaves the touchpad enabled, which I didn't want, so this was the alternative I came up with.

First flicker, second LG had a crack and now received 3rd lcd panel and according to hwinfo64 it is "Chi Mei 173HGE". My first impression of the screen is this: Very grainy on any white background (i guess thats due to its ag coating). There is much more visible ghosting compared to previously cracked LG and colors are absolutely horrid.

So can any1 point me in the direction where did someone from dell officially said that we have right to ask exchange of the screen? I've found this:

EDIT: They authorized replacement. I was supposed to get new screen today but when i came to the service center and guy opened box with the new panel it was broken... Oh my dear Croatia :)

I need a quick answer please. I just changed the motherboard in my m6600 and upon boot I am greeted with the service tag menu and AMT options.

I know I need to enter the service tag but I do not know what to select in the amt options.

    Options are :

    1. amt_dash_vpro
    2. n/a
    3. manageability engine (me) disabled
    4, amd_dash_vpro: no_tls (not for usa)
    5. n/a
    6. manageability engine (me) lockout

    What do I select here?

LE: It's written under the keyboard the configuration available for the laptop (3 in my case).

I'm running into another situation at the moment. After putting it all back together the battery shows up as not detected. Even though it is connected, it is not shown in bios nor windows. As I remember there was no battery connector on the mobo. Did I miss something?

Furious or what!!! I have had my Dell M6600 for a year now and it never moves from the Desktop. I have noticed a crack appear on the front left of the palmrest.
    M6600 crack.png
I sent them this picture and they told me they cannot replace it under my 3 year warranty because it has been caused through accidental damage. Absolute poppycock. There has been no accidental damage, the machine is immaculate as the day I bought it. There are no marks whatsoever to show any sort of damage even around the crack. Ironically this cover is extremely poor quality as when I purchased it I was expecting metal, and what do I get, thin plastic.
Also when I received the machine within a couple of weeks it had to be repaired by a heavy handed Polish engineer who replaced the memory but dislodged the power socket, so another guy came to replace that and could easily have caused the crack. I am an engineer myself and was astonished at the poor workmanship. Dell of course said I should have reported it at the time, but the crack wasn't visible then, and as we all know small cracks develope into big ones, although Dell wouldn't agree with that either.
So I have now asked their legal team to contact me as they have basically accused me of lying. The technician that rand me from the warranty department said he has never seen this sort of damage before.
Has anyone in this thread experienced similar cracking?
I am going to pursue this, does anyone know what my chances of getting a letter to Mike Dell might be. :)

As a follow up to my mobo change experience, the palm rest/touchpad ribbon broke, the new mobo has a faulty battery connector (as the old mobo works) and the audio board cable seems broken though not sure yet.

Gonna call dell tomorrow and hopefully we can work something out.

Today is a bad day for science.

There should be a sticker under the battery with the correct option.
