I did not add sound, not really my thing to hear my self talk. I have the multi touch display and your right i was surprised to see it so glossy. Over all i'm very happy with my upgrade from Precision M6500.

My M4600 is brownish, same color as in dell's pictures.

Just a quick question for the ones who ordered/have this machine. Could you get any more discount then the one offered in the dell page? It seems I cannot buy this machine in Hungary, but we have dell here in the country and it seems they will make repairs in garanty if needed. I think I will ask my brother who lives in the states to buy me one.

Thx for any info (even in pm if it is contact info).

    Hi all,

    Just ordered a M6600 (i7 2720 / 8go Ram / 750Go DD / Full HD / M8900 + ...) for 1960EUR + Renice X3 SSD 120Go

    I'm a happy man :)

But I have a question for you. Do you know what is the exact model and brand of the 750Go hardrive sold by dell ?
I'm planning to buy a second one for a Raid, and I would like to have exactly the same one.

    Thank you for your help,

Couple pages before you will find a coupon code which gives you bigger discount - nothing massive, worth applying though.
I did exactly same thing as you plan. I take advantage of the fact that my company has 2 branches in US and even though I live in IRL, I bought one in US. The price is much lower than in any EU country. If you do not have your laptop hand carried then Hungarian Customs will add VAT (Hungary rate is ...?) to the total and you will need to pay that in order to get parcel released from Customs.
I am having it delivered to NY (when ready) and then someone will hand carry that to me or it will wait for my next business trip.
NBD warranty is fully transferable to EU. It is however, hard to expect that insurance will, so no point in taking any insurance in your case. You can transfer the warranty through your local Dell webpage. If you cannot find the link then call Dell's Helpdesk in your country and they will explain everything to you.

The machine is a "gun metal" color.

Funny, I was given a watch that color a few months ago. So it matches.

Also: keyboard flex is pretty bad, but makes no difference in ordinary typing. I'm not concerned about it. Overall build quality is very good.

They cut the weight a fair bit from the M6500; that was probably one of the ways.

The coupon code is VT7KHQ32ZSCFSG. I just noticed that it is back to showing on the US site. Another option is to call a rep or do a chat session. When I was ready to place my order, the code wasn't showing on the site so I did a chat. The quote from the rep was around $200 cheaper for my configuration. Before I pulled the trigger, someone here mentioned that the code was still working and I was able to find the code on another site. With the code, my config came out to around $100 cheaper than the rep quote. One thing to keep in mind is that the code, which is 30% off, is calculated from the starting price. It basically takes the place of the instant savings discount. Like the other poster said, not nearly as big as someone may think when they see 30%, but worth taking advantage of.

On a side note, one of the first questions I asked the rep in the chat session was whether or not I could still get in on the 30% promotion to which the rep answered no. Considering that the code never went invalid and is still the same code more than a week and a half later, I found that answer to be disingenuous. Just something to keep in mind.

Thx for the help for both of you!

That code is worth 180 bucks on my configuration (so much cheaper the the "normal" discount"), that is not bad at all.

I've said that already as well. Just my experience.
One way to check whether the code is still valid is building quickly some basic config in the web configurator and after adding to basket trying to apply the code. If it is decreasing the price then you can ask the rep to apply it. That is the way it worked for me for the first time. During my third re-order I forgot to apply and decided to let it go, as went through enough hassle already.
After applying the code do not expect the rep to be keen to negotiate the price anymore. Unless, of course, you are ordering some really loaded config (ex.: i7-2920 and Q4000, SSDs, etc.).
    Quick EDIT:
I'd suggest preparing a checklist of things to be discussed with sales rep and going through it during the call. Simply keep ticking the things of the list. This will avoid stupid mistakes like for ex. I did.
