If any of you reading this forum are waiting for the IPS display to be released please help me ask Dell for more information. Dell initially told Anandtech that the IPS display for the M6600 would be released shortly after product launch. 2 months later there is no IPS display. Ask Dell to release it or be forthcoming with details by voting for my idea on ideastorm by visiting the link below:
IdeaStorm | Release the IPS monitor for the Precision M6600!

    Thank you!

why is my norton warning me of this website?

and: Dell will release the IPS when it is done. you won't reach anything with your demand

@flex: I can't understand, why you are complaining so much because of the flex of the keyboard. If you push your buttons as hard as in the video, so that flex will occure, you must do something wrong.

As a side note, the touch panel option does not seem to be available anymore. So it might be possible the ips display will replace the touch...

The 6600 web site is inconsistent at this point (or at least seems to be so). E.g. there is a touchscreenchoice in the model starting point page (Small Business Technology - Computers, Mobile Devices & More | Dell, but when you configure the screen none of the options says touchscreen.

The backlit keyboard is not a selectable choice as well.

I was told by a customer representative that my keyboard would be backlit (although it does not say so in the order listing), but for the touchscreen I would have to talk to the 'technical team'.

I decided the touchscreen availability is not a dealbreaker for me - i want 16+GB RAM, and the 2820QM CPU - the sweet spot for performance & price - and the HD screen. (And yes, I would prefer the 1920x1200 like many others).

My order is in production, hope to get it earlier than the 7/28 date I was given.

Can I ask owners to send their SSD performance data - I would like to compare Dell's SataIII SSD with Crucials.

    Thanks man!
Replacing DVD with BR is no philosophy. Don't know why it was told to be not too easy.
I like easy access to fans - that means removing excessive dust should be quite easy and not risky.
Don't like that flexy frame around the keyboard.
Is it just me or is there no sound in the film? I wasn't able to listen to comments you made (if any).
The display is described as non-reflective but I can see it is not a matt. Reflecting like a mirror.
