I didn't look long but couldn't find any. Here is the notebookcheck page for the firepro. It doesn't have any benchmarks but states that it is based off of the same chip as the 6970M and theoretically offers similar performance. Benchmarks for the 6970M can be found on it's page here .

Gaming wise, in 3dMark11 the 8900M is significantly faster than most Quadros (at least up to Quadro 4000M). I seriously doubt even the Quadro 5010M will outperform it.

    My Quadro 4000M scores P2400 in 3dMark11 (see: http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...80712-m6600-owners-thread-18.html#post7585455 / post by FabrizioT ) , while the 8900M scores around P3000 (see: http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...580712-m6600-owners-thread-6.html#post7535745 / post by tomcom2k ).

M6600 uses standard MXM3 for graphics card, so eventually you'll be able to put in some better graphics card in the future. Quadros included, if you need them.

So I was happy with my laptop until this morning.

The machine crashed 5 times during the day so I thought I'd reload it.

Couples of long stories short starting windows setup from USB or DVD takes for ever, and if i'm patient (20 minutes) I get to select a target disk and it slowly installs, I waited an hour to get to 20%.

Boot time diagnostics show everything OK.

I've tried booting setup with no hard drives in the machine and it still takes for ever.

I'm at a complete loss, any ideas?

I'll be calling Dell in the morning,

    Doesn't sound good!

Can you boot a Linux Live CD with no hard drives in the machine?

But the 3d mark 06 result is the same as the Radeon HD 6970m. Of the 7 Radeon results one was the same (17260) two were faster (19k, but card had 8gb of ram) and 3 were slower (14k, 15k, 15k).

The Quadro 4000m is faster on 3d mark 06 than the 470 and 480. Only faster Nividia card is the GeForce GTX 485m and the Quadro 5010m.

Once the drivers mature, the Quadro 4000m should be a fairly potent card for gaming as well.

Really strange, fingerprint login works fine for pre-windows. But when I ctrl+L or the laptop auto locks, and I login with my fingerprint - it freezes on the welcome screen (have to hold power button to turn off). Works ok if I type in the password. Happened about 3 times already. Doh
