Does the M6600 allow to transfer HD3D over HDMI with M8900 AMD graphic card ?

Yes, the M8900 supports HD3D via the HDMI 1.4a interface and the M6600 should allow it.

    Ref: AMD FirePro M8900 - Notebookcheck.net Tech
"The AMD HD3D Technology offers support for Blu-Ray 3D and 3D displays (integrated and external). However, the solution is not as mature as Nvidias 3D Vision..."

Here is the diagram I generated from the Clevo service manual. Circuit wise, it looks very similar to the M6600, but I have not investigated it enough.

    I believe you are wrong.

You can see the clamp on the back of the Quadro 4000m from Bokeh's review of the M6600: http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...iew-warning-large-pics-personal-opinions.html

Here is the clamp on the of the 6990m from some random ebay poster (I'm sure he won't mind): ATI Mobility Radeon? HD 6990m GPU MXM 3.0 Type B | eBay

The clamp for the 6990m is the same as the one for my m8900 and the clamp for the Quadro 4000m is the same as the one for my 580m.

Maybe there are two versions of the m8900 and the Quadro 4000m, so that the clamp on a set of them are identical, yet somehow I doubt this is the case.

Again I really appreciate the great info

    Notes on Intel FF8062700834603

    * Integrated graphics controller runs at 650 MHz, and up to 1300 MHz in Turbo mode
    * Memory controller supports DDR3-1066, DDR3-1333 and DDR3-1600 memory
    * The processor has unlocked clock multiplier

Does this mean I can overclock on the m6600 or would I need a bios that allows for overclocking

    Turbo Frequency (MHz) 2960=3700 2760=3500
    Clock Multiplier 2960=27 2760=24

If the mhz is higher and the multiplier is higher then wouldnt the increase be exponential meaning 3700x27 vs 3500x24 is this correct

Im new at all this so Im grasping at straws here

Those notes mention integrated graphics but I thought this being optimus was disabled in the 6600 with the 2960

And what exactly are the benefits of optimus besides battery life I mean does it help with performance say if Im doing a high gpu task it could help by taking some of the load off of my main gpu or not

    Hi all,
I finally received my M6600 with IPS. If pictures of it are useful to anyone or a non-techie question or comparison with the M6400, just let me know.

Everything looks OK at first glance... I'll report after installing everything and using it...

When I bought my M6500 last year there were many posts in the M6500 owners thread with people complaining about the Dell Control Point software being bloatware, and you should absolutely not use it, etc.

I see that my new M6600 will come with a number of Dell pieces of software including:
    Dell Desktop System Software
Dell Control Point Security Driver Pack
    Dell Control Point - DCP

Are these all clean and relatively problem free pieces of software/drivers now?
