The coupon code still applies, if you can dig it up. I ordered yesterday (with the new free upgrade to the 3000M) and applied to coupon, and it took - it just no longer showed in the cart before applying.

Yep, your right. Took a few minutes to find it but I found it on one site listing an exp date of 7/29. When I pasted it, the autofill came up so it's the same code. The code is VT7KHQ32ZSCFSG for anyone interested.

edit: Just noticed dell lists the exp date as 7/29 in the cart as well.

Meh... free upgrade to the 3000M, which I ordered... and 30% off.

Mine is still In Production and due to be delivered next week, I'm assuming it's going to be delayed. Would I have to cancel and re-order to get that discount?

I've been lugging around a 17" Asus G2S for years and attempting to use it as a portable workstation like a moron.
For me this is a long overdue upgrade.

I find all the size comments odd... from netbook users that feel the need to say this is `just too big' for them ( its a portable work horse ) and smaller machines aren't what someone like me wants. Who wants to lug around a monitor and a laptop? It's a 17.3" with a 1920x1080 display and that's what I need.

I just may end up being the first dude in Canada walking around with this on my back. As I'm used to hauling a heavier, bulkier Asus that doesn't measure up... I'm happy.

How do you guys think the 3000 will stack up against the 4000? The upgrade price is very steep. I would almost order one right now especially with that nice discount but I want an ips screen. Hopefully that option is added soon.

AFAICT, based on NVIDIA's information, the 4000M has 50% more CUDA cores than the 3000M (336 vs. 240). In all other respects, they are identical.

The 5010M, OTOH, is the only mobile NVIDIA card to support "Fast 64-Bit Floating Point Precision." Which almost forces you to get it if you're doing work that requires lots of floating point calculations.

Fortunately, I'm not; the > $1,000 upgrade cost is a touch steep. Not that it's even available in the Precisions just yet...

If it's delayed, you should be able to kick up enough of a fuss to get the discount. Particularly if you threaten to cancel and re-order.

Of course, if you actually did it'd take a while to get there. My delivery date is expected to be July 20th, and that if there are no delays.

Awesome setup man! I also ordered mine from Fortnax Extreme Notebooks. Didn't know they had a better wireless card option. Will see if it's not too late to upgrade.
