The mSATA slot can be seen on the picture at the beginning of this thread. Just click on it twice to enlarge.
The mSATA is SATA II (3 Gbit/s), both hard drive bays are SATA III (6Gbit/s).

I tried to ask these questions in a chat with a Dell rep but got disconnected. If I'm not happy with the computer for any reason, is there a restocking fee or is it a full refund? Also, I have a ssd, would I need to order anything else to be able to install it? Thanks for any help any of you can provide.

I was told there is a 15% restocking fee; on a $2,000+ purchase this is a substantial fee ($300+ for the math impaired). I would also complain about the shipping costs when returning, but I was able to convince the sales rep to give me 2-day free shipping and a $50 discount.

I have no answer to your 2nd question; however, I also plan to use my M4 with the M6600.

I added a Crucial M4 256GB SSD to my M6600 with no problem just plugging it in. I couldn't get the cloned copy to boot, though, so I did a fresh install.

No, I haven't done a FW update on the SSD, but now I'm going to look into it...
