    Let me rephrase my question:
What is the Max (single core) and steady 4/4 core frequency for current highest rated quad CPU in a factory configured M6600 with CPU speed optimized settings?

(i.e., no liquid nitrogen, no hacking the BIOS, etc., :)

(Yes the above answer will depend on room temp, HD load, GPU load as these all generate heat with subsequent off-peak CPU Hz. So assume reasonable conditions, or even better what are users seeing with their high-end/extreme quad cores. Thanks.)

In my air-conditioned office I'm seeing all 8 threads keep a steady 2.7-2.9 GHz, i.e., ~2.8 GHz on all 4 cores.

Is there a procedure to go back to a older A03 bios?.

It seem based on the response, that some folks have A04 and are not seeing this issue. Please confirm.

    Thanks

Turbo Boost doesn't seems to work for me either.

I have check in the bios, TurboMode is enabled, but, I have seeing something that's maybe strange.

In General System Information, we can see "Minimal Clock Speed" (800MHz) and "Maximum Clock Speed" (2.200GHz).
I don't know if the Maximum includes the Turbo or not.
For those with Turbo Mode working, can you tell us this value?

I'm not sure how many of you pay attention to the M4600 Owners Lounge thread (not a bad idea to watch both, considering the similarities), but they're having the same problems with Turbo over there too. Dell definitely messed things up with the latest BIOS releases (A04 for M6600, A05 for M4600) so that Turbo no longer works. As discussed in the M4600 thread, you can use ThrottleStop to turn on Turbo, but you have to do it every time you boot the machine.

    Dell, please fix!

Turbo works fine for me with a 2920XM in the M6600 with A04 without throttlestop
