Thank you very much, Mano! :D

Is there a report number generated globally about the Chi Mei Panel on the m6600? If it is, it would be a good thing to know!.

Also, is ther any information about this in the "official" dell forums?

I ask you about this because I chatted with the a tech support guy dealing with the Mexico and Latin America and Caribbean customers (I did this before I could PM you) and they are not aware of this situation, at all!

    Thanks again for your help!!!

Perhaps someone here can help with this. Not sure if it is specific to the M6600.

I am trying to boot to a disc - the mhdd disk utility. And after no success I have tried booting to Magic Boot Disc v2, which contains mhdd. I am doing this to test a new external drive, not an internal drive in the machine. But that's beside the point.

I do the usual - one time boot menu, and choose the cd/dvd/rw drive. After choosing whether to load with or without scsci (no difference either way), I get stuck with this... (see image).

    Any thoughts?

UPDATE #1: Just thought I'd check for a new bios. The A04 released on the 13th of this month lists these fixes:
    1. Addressed CD boot issues. - [Perhaps this will do the trick]

    2. Addressed Hard Drives hang issue in AHCI mode.
    3. Addressed Hard Drives encryption issue in ATA mode.
    4. Fixed issue where the MAC address would be incorrect after disabling the Integrated NIC in Setup.
    5. Added support for Signed Firmware Update Transition BIOS.
    6. Updated to the MOB_P_11 version of the Intel microcode patch.
    7. Updated to the 1.2.0 version of Intel System Agent reference code.
    8. Updated to the 1.2 version of Intel PCH Reference Code.
    9. Updated to the 1.2.1.1 version of Intel PPM Reference Code.
10.Use higher PWM frequency for eDP panels to prevent flickering.

UPDATE #2: No luck. That fix was not for this issue.

Hi - I'd be interested if there is any global report about this. It's been almost a month since first contacting Dell about the poor quality of the screen (ChiMei). Having spoken to a range of support technicians then on up the chain of command (quite quickly had a telecon to resolve the issue, all seemed to be going well), they had agreed to take my M6600 in for inspection.

And that's where it stops - no one has come to collect in weeks! Our hardware guy keeps calling, but I see no real commitment to resolving the issue. Anyone else had any response in the UK? or Europe?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Does anybody know what the correct name of the WWAN module for the M6600 is?
I am looking forward to find that hardware somewhere cheap to buy, maybe ebay.

Dell wireless m5550 minicard. I ordered with my machine, and that is what on the spec list.

On my hardware list it says Dell wireless 5550 HSPA+ Mini-Card Network Adapter. Made by Ericsson.

    Thank you very much.
So I have to search for Dell WWAN 5550 module.
    Another reputation from me. ;)

Do you know if this module also supports GPS?

I think it does support gps, at least the managing program (dell moblie broadband manager) has the option for it. If I start it I can switch the gps on.

I tried, and now it searches for staelite. But it has no hope finding one where I use this computer (always inside) :)

Ok, then I have to wait.
I do not need that piece of hardware for any price.
