    This issue doesn't occurs only in low level brightness, but with medium and "middle-high" level too.

    It's really anoying, I will keep in touch here for every information that Dell France give me tomorrow (maybe, if they recalling me).

    Some of the low power battery modes switch the screen from 60hz to 40hz to save power. Try overriding the refresh rate and making sure it stays at 60hz.

    You might also try turning off all of the lights and monitors in the room and see if you still have the flicker. There is a chance that some other light in the room is operating at a frequency close to yours.

    Where I can "block" the screen at 60Hz?

    And I don't understand this "There is a chance that some other light in the room is operating at a frequency close to yours.", I will see that later, maybe.

    In the BIOS, they talking about an "ambient light sensor", but I can't find the option anymore to (de)activate this one! (For what I think, option must be available only if we don't change the LCD Brightness).

    EDIT: I have try to block it at 60Hz, no more luck, less flickering, but still presents.

    I think the French Electrical System 240v / 50hz. So a fluorescent light would switch on and off at 50hz or 50 times a second.

    The human eye can detect things that change up to about 10 times a second. It will get sort of blurry and flickery up to about 20 times a second. By 24 times a second, you have no flickering. In fact, 24 hz is the speed for film based movies.

    So. Lets say your screen is running on battery at 40hz and your lights at 50hz. The difference is 10hz. You might be able to see that 10hz difference as a flicker on the screen.

    So, back to your computer. You have not told us if your M6600 has Optimus enabled on it.

    If you are using Optimus, make sure to update BOTH your Intel and Nvidia drivers from the Dell site.

    You might want to go ahead and install Control Point if you don't already have it running.

    If you have Optimus running - right click on the Desktop. Click "Le Graphics Properties" in the middle of the menu. You should now have the Intel Graphics screen asking if you want basic or advanced mode. Click "Le Advanced". Under the "Le Display" menu on the left, you should see "Le General Settings". When you click "Le General Settings" you should see the refresh rate over on the right. Try changing it between 40 and 60hz to see if you can get it to flicker.

    So, if it does flicker, get back to us.

    If it does not flicker or if you are not running Optimus, right click on the desktop and click "Le Nvidia Control Panel". There you can select "Change Le Resolution" under "Le Display" and get the option of changing the refresh rate.

    Oh - and make sure that you actually check these settings on battery power and at a brightness setting that caused a flicker.

    Also, all that stuff I put in quotation marks might have to be translated to French. Sorry, I studied Deutsch in school. Your English seems great, so I am sure you will figure it out :)

    I have a M6600 with a Quadro 3000M card, or rather my work has ordered one for me and it will be here in early October. I want to be able to run games on it, and I know the Quadro's drivers are optimized for CAD. Is there a driver for the Quadro that will optimize it for gaming? Thanks!

    I'm happy to report that I received two M6600's today and the displays are LG's. Here's how the order proceessing timelines looked like if anyone is wondering:

    02/09/2011 -> order placed via business sales rep, EDD 29/02/2011
    02/09/2011 -> Order Processing (cheque payment)
    12/09/2011 -> Work In Progress
    14/09/2011 -> In Production
    17/09/2011 -> Shipped
    21/09/2011 -> Delivered, 8 days before EDD.

    The flex reported by some people is barely noticeable, the build quality is very good. I'm impressed. So far, everything seems to be working perfectly, although I did have some problems getting the FIPS fingerprint reader to work following a clean OS reinstall.

    Sorry, most part of your post is useless for me, due to my configuration that I didn't post it^^

    See my signature (up to date now)

    EDIT: If I follow your post, If I set the screen at 60Hz, even in Battery mode, I should not see any "flicker", but I see them too... less than if it's at 40Hz, but still present.

    Hello, benanna,

    Dell's technician came today and swapped the Chi Mei for the LG in my M6600.

    Results: Color images and video now have much better fidelity and vastly less blue cast. Web pages have more vibrant colors. Small text seems more inviting--better contrast on purer white is one factor. Text is easier to read.
