if you call them they will be able to create a quote with the IPS display for you. Sometimes when you get a clueless operator you need to insist then usually after referring to their supervisor they will come back to you with more accurate information

I assume this only applies to m4600 and not to the m6600 correct?

I just got my M4600 today. It came with a 180W AC Adapter:
    180W 3P, A/C Adapter 180AC [330-1525] [331-1459]

I also got an E-Port Port Replicator:
    E-Port Port Replicatr ESPORT [430-3265]
It came with a 210W Adapter

Now, the funny thing is that I cannot get the 180W adapter to work with the port replicator. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but there appears to be no power delivered to the laptop when it is docked and I am using the 180W adapter. The reason why I need to explore this option is because I use two port replicators, one at home and one at work. I only bought one new port replicator with the laptop, so I was hoping to use an old port replicator that I had (with the wimpier 180W adapter). It looks like I might just have to buy a separate 210W adapter.

The 180W power adapter should be working in your dock, I use it at work. Does the power adapter work if connected directly to the system? If so then you might have a bad dock.

Thanks for the information. The 180W adapter works directly with the laptop (I am using it as I type).

I do have two docks, so I can mix and match tomorrow at work to see if you are right.

Well, after fiddling with the dock lock a bit, I got the blue light to go on. So, now it works, but I notice that it is really flakey. In fact, just as I was typing this, the blue light on the dock went off. Oh well, I guess my dock is bad (probably the connector).

What I meant was, upgrading past the 768p screen is a must (unless one happens to like Dell's awful contrast-devoid 768p screens, and the low resolution they come with.)

I've already asked this twice, but never got an answer... It's actually very important for me to have it sorted out before tomorrow:

    - with the Quadro 4000M graphics, is the M6600 capable of using 2 external monitors simultaneously with its own display, or not?

Please answer this question for me considering both with and without the Advanced docking station scenarios. Thanks in advance!

@MoldCAD : this graphic card is surely capable of that, and even more.
As the M6600 has 3 video out ports (hdmi, display port, vga), you can easily connect two monitors in HD 1920p and one in HD720p ;)
