Dell kind of shot themselves in the foot with the review models for the M4800, they sent everyone the QHD model since the screen is IGZO and impressive. On the other hand, it revealed that the M4800 gets lackluster battery numbers without Optimus.

    Yeah, it's with 1920x1080 display.

A bit disappointing that there aren't any reviews with FHD display, I've tried looking and couldn't find one, so you won't get an idea of how good the battery life is from these reviews.

I am not sure what the drive names are, bios only shows serial numbers that does not bring anything on a google search.
They are Samsung and they are 512 and one is a full mini card and the other is regular 2.5.
The Raid 0 was set up at Dell factory, the computer is purchased through the IT department of my work, who has been giving me the run around saying it is all fine and all computers run below spec due to heavy IT and security overhead, which is BS. Anyway they just accepted the fact that it is unusually slow and taking it back for evaluation on monday.

That looks nice, that is only one drive right? I was hoping to double that with the Raid and get around 800'ish sequential read

I agree. The reviews convinced me to get the QHD screen which is amazing. But then the battery life is bad compared to other computers with equally great screens and since I've owned the QHD, I won't step down to FHD.

If they enabled Optimus on the QHD model I would buy another immediately.

Oh good i found another person with the problem with the keyboard i was really beginning to think i was the only one. I have exactly the same issue that you have with the double key presses except mine seems to be the CC key and the TT keys (double key press left intentionally there)

I would be curious if your new keyboard fixes the issue for you or not. In my case i have had a new keyboard sent, a new laptop sent, and a third laptop when that one didn't resolve the issue either. I still have the issue but at this point i'm thinking its either the way i type or some type of design defect in the keyboard and i'm just going to have to deal with it. I'm not really sure there is much that dell ccan do butt it's fairly frustrating to have to seccond guess yourself when you are typing all the time :)

I think that DELL can not enable Optimus with QHD as it needs more pixel-bandwidth or pixel-adressing than the Intel Graphics can handle.

I believe that at some point Intel had stated that its current GPUs can handle 4k displays.

Dell didnt implement qhd display connection properly. Its not routed tru intel card at all. Its only connected to dedicated card. Same way dp and hdmi ports always use dedicated card.

If that's the case, how come Optimus works on the M3800 with the QHD screen?
