Have you looked around for any coupons? I was able to find one when I ordered that was I think 20%. I actually found it after ordering but got it honored due to a delay and a lot of complaining.

I've been trying to find some for a while now. The only one I've found recently is $150 which is reflected in the above price I quoted. This is on top of Dell's current "sale" of 30% off.

Since I don't want the QHD+ screen I've been thinking about getting the one with FirePro M5100, but I'm not sure how good that GPU is compared to K1100M or K2100M. According to notebookcheck.net the M5100 should be equivalent to K2100M, but then I don't understand why the configuration with M5100 is slightly cheaper than K1100M. Does someone know?

alexhawker: Where did you find the coupon? Was it on top of the 30% "sale"?

This may be because they charge a premium for the isv-certified cards.

I think I found it on another thread on this site. I believe it's now expired though.

I can't speak for the validity of this site but certainly seems okay. I have no affiliation BTW.

    Dell Precision Coupon 2014

Check the first link. Seems pretty good to me.

    K1100M
FHD screen (which I think sucks)
    8GB RAM

I had to do a double take on the specs included for the price. I'd be all over it if it had the QHD+ screen for more money but seems like a bargain considering you're getting the SSD and not a hybrid drive. *Edit - oops, made a mistake. It's the hybrid. Not such a great deal.

    Jumbie,

btw ... Is Dell taking it back without charging you a restocking fee of 15% ?

Yes. I bought it with their "free shipping and easy returns" promotion. I confirmed with the rep when I set up the return that there would be no restocking fee.

    Jumbie,

That's great ! ... I hope they run that promotion again, when I am ready to purchase.

Be interested in your report, if you decide to re-order the M4800 with QHD+ screen.

    Question
    1. With a QHD+ would you expect to run it at a lower than native resolution --OR-- do you plan on just changing the windows DPI setting to make the text larger ? OR are you planning tu run it at its QHD+ resolution, (but I would think text would probably be too small for me at least at its native resolution).

Anyone else not seeing any turbo boost? I'm plugged in, on "high performance," and I only seem to be getting 2.69 GHz flat, never higher.

    Any thoughts?
