I received this notebook with FHD screen last week. As Uggy_Duggy I also noticed the screen was not so bad (especially compared with the TN screen in my 4-years old VAIO notebook). When running AIDI64 it shows the monitor ID is LGD046F. It looks like an IPS screen to me but I'm not an expert. Maybe somebody can tell more about this screen? Couldn't find anything on Google.

That is probably a IPS, so dell are getting both AUO AHVA and LG IPS in it now.

I tried to replicate your situation but did not have any of your problems... Put it to sleep by pressing the power button, then waited a few minutes and pressed the button again. The session in Windows came back just as expected, with all the open applications in their place.
I have one of the new FHD machines and I am running Windows 8.1.

Mine is definitely an IPS panel, and I have to say that after a month of work it really makes itself stand out from an ordinary TN panel. Coupled with the ability of the display to rotate 180+ degrees (aligned with the keyboard) it really improves the workflow, particularly when sharing and discussing CAD drawings with co-workers. The resolution is good, pretty much enough for most tasks, although I would have loved to get the UHD version - unfortunately not a viable option in my case.

Press the power button to tell the laptop to go to sleep, but keep pressing it really quickly (i.e. 'spamming' it) - don't wait for it to go fully to sleep. It might take you a couple of tries to trigger the restart.

I was under the impression that a forced shutdown can be triggered by holding down the power button but not by pressing it rapidly.

Hello to everybody! I'm going to order m4800 with qhd panel, but in Europe it's still 3200x1800, while on US site I see they updated it to 3840x2160. Is here anyone who could tell is the new one glossy or anti-glare? Also if resolution is set to fHD in settings does result looks better than on old 3200x1800 (which I've read had some blurness in this mode)?
    Thank you in advance!

All monitors will look blurry when they are not running at their native resolution.

You may be thinking of DPI scaling instead - in which case, applications that do not have proper scaling support will look blurry.

Guys, I got this 4k 8BIT panel. Surprisingly, it gives 97.4% of sRGB AND aRGB (103% total coverage), which is superb compared to the rest of 6bit bunch (on my M6700 RGBLEDIPS I had aRGB as a default for poppy colors in non-managed apps). Now... I got low-to-medium backlit bleeding and corners get noticeably darker, not loosing color though (if you look straight at them, they are okay). 4k right now, on 8.1Pro, doesn't scale universally well on all apps. Trying to figure out what to think of it.

Is your panel glossy or anti-glare? I can't find it on dell's site.

anti-glare, i think it's the reason corners look darker. once calibrated (greenish tint), 4k content looks really nice. once calibrated, i got 0.6 average and 3.2 max dE. but bleeding and strong darkening are annoying. sharp makes similar glossy panel.

Can you tell us the modelnumber of the panel? With
    http://www.hwinfo.com/
    for example.
