    Hello, guys,

Just wanted to give you a heads-up... I just received my machine today.
I've been just testing it, and so far no problems.

One interesting note regarding a subject that's been discussed in the last few posts:

Since I ordered a FHD version - and having read all previous posts regarding the quality of the supplied panel - I was expecting something close to dreadful. However, to be honest the colour and the viewing angles did not seem that bad to me. But then again, I'm not nearly a display panel connoisseur.

Anyway, this prompted me to investigate further, so I downloaded AIDA64 and went to check the monitor properties. Apparently, the "Monitor ID" is "AUO11ED" and the "Manufacturer" is "4WVJT_B156HAN", manufactured in 2014. A google search led me to believe that this might be indeed a AHVA/IPS panel, just like user baii was hinting at some posts ago.

If it is indeed the case, I can consider myself lucky I did not order the M4800 a month before (although I've been already waiting for it for 3 weeks). It seems I was given a machine from the new batch.

    Cheers,

Logged in to say that whoever sits with BIOS ver, 08,09,10,11 DO NOT update to 13! you'll get this most likely, -> http://www.dell.com/support/Article/is/en/isbsdt1/SLN295183/EN note BIOS "11! mentioned but link is broken. (screen goes blank and doesn't wake-up)

I had to use geo-filters to get me back to BIOS "11", link below for those who made my mistake and jumped on lucky number 13...

    M4800A11.exe https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=2MTRV

BIOS 10 and 11 are nowhere to be found in (UK)

Anyone order the 4800 with the new 4k screen (3840 x 2160)? Wondering what kind of battery life it would have.

    Is that a thing?

Just took a look on Dell's site and I only see HD or HD+ displays (not even the 3200 x 1800 one) as an option. Also noticed it was K1100m only, no K2100m.

Weird, I've had no issues (so far) on A13.

maybe I'm Lucky? it just bugged out on me... I continue to have "cant wake from hibernate or sleep once again" with my machine especially when its on the Eport Dock. I believe its a combo of GFX driver and system bug. I have re-installed with various ver of Nvidia drivers to no avail. I'm reluctant to fresh install OS as it only solves problems 1% of the time...

    Update!
Reinstalling Chipset drivers and clean installing NIC drivers and then (Clean installing) Nvidia drivers (ODE) from Nvidia seem to have sorted century old issue.

hate when this happens out of blue.

I think I have found quite a nasty bug with my M4800.

If I put the laptop in to sleep by pressing the power button (default behaviour on Windows), and then 'spam' the power button to get it to wake back up, the machine will loose the suspended state in RAM and restart the laptop.

Can anyone else verify this problem?

Just a small bump for this thread, I'm still interested to see if anyone can replicate the sleep bug I have with my M4800.
