I did check various times over the summer and never saw any good deals, at least not on this model. My current computer's on its last leg, but I don't want to end up buying at the wrong time and getting screwed. Is anything known about the M4900 at this time? Cause I haven't been able to find anything.

How EXACTLY did you get to edit "bios?" Bios of the GPU? (Since the bios of the computer is hard locked). Do you have any guide to unlock the bios to further overclock?

    Much thanks in advance!

    Anyone please? Know this??

My U3014 is connected to docking station with "micro DisplayPort to DisplayPort" cable.

    Cheers

I don’t know of anything. It just makes sense to expect that sooner or later, Broadwell-based Precisions with yet again updated Quadros appear.

I know the decision to wait can be excruciating. Last year, I was initially shopping for Ivy Bridge…

I’d say just follow closely announcements or development regarding Broadwell hitting the market. The call to wait or give up and buy now remains entirely yours, of course. But whether it makes sense to wait for the new generation may be more determined by what is being announced by nVidia. I believe nVidia pairs their generations with Intel generations. The upgrade from Kx000M (paired with Ivy Bridge) to Kx100M (paired with Haswell) was pretty significant.

Since I have replaced a very old nVidia driver (327.62) with a recent one (340.66, or A08/4066), there is a clearly audible click whenever the dGPU activates. I went on and installed 340.84 from nVidia, and it still clicks.
Anyone with similar experience? It does not feel right that any non-moving part inside should activate audibly like that.

    Thanks for the info.

I may not actually end up getting this monitor, though. Keep reading complaints about uneven backlighting, and Amazon now has it tagged as "under review" because there may be an issue with their stock.

So I'm back looking for a monitor that will provide me with good quality but not cost an arm and a leg.. if I do go with the U3014 though that will be helpful. Thanks again.

I have a clicking noise as well. That is always followed by activating the fan. I'm not sure, but activating you dGPU might also turn your fan on by default, hence the clicking noise.

You can definitely hear a click in my M6800 when the GPU fan kicks on. That's almost certainly the noise you are hearing. As to why it never did it before, I couldn't say.
