FWIW, I haven't seen any double key presses in 8-9 months. I use an external USB keyboard docked at work and the internal one at home and in meetings.

I might flash back to A07 soon, this double key press issue seems to be present for me in A09. Oddly enough, I've had the same problem with my E6540 - so it could be the actual keyboard controller itself?

That matches what I'm seeing. Feels like the internal keyboard has just a little bit less debouncing than it needs. Double strokes happen most often when I don't hit the key hard enough, or straight up and down. I've used a few different externals, and none of them showed the issue.

I thought it was not possible to enable Optimus on the m4800, do you have the FHD or QHD screen?

Optimus works fine on the FHD screen. The QHD screen is a hack, added after release, so it connects directly to the Nvidia/ATI chip, as the Intel didn't have the needed eDP connection, connected. The FHD screen can work fine over LVDS, which is connected.

Technically, you could enable Optimus on the model with the QHD screen, just the Nvidia chip would be powered on and in use whenever the QHD screen is.... Which is basically all the time. External monitors could be used with Optimus just fine.

    Hey Everyone,

I just received my M4800, to start off fresh, I formatted the hard drive and re-installed windows. Everything is working great but I have 2 questions.

    1. I can not find the Dell Webcam Central installation software on Dell's website to re-install it. Does anyone have a link for that?

    2. I noticed on a dark background there looks to be about 4 or 5 areas on the right side of the screen that are the shape of fingerprints that are lighter than the rest of the screen, but there are no fingerprints at all on the screen itself. I cannot see those "fingerprints" on lighter backgrounds, just darker one's.

Would you guys leave it alone and let it be or would you ask for a screen replacement? If you do ask for a replacement, how are the repair tech's? My old Latitude D610 never needed service, so I don't know how they are.

    Thanks.

the marks on the screen would bug me once i knew they were there. i wouldn't bother with a tech coming to your place to replace the screen. i would just return the unit for a refund and place a new order a fresh model

Thanks for the quick response, I forgot to say in my original post, I bought it from Dell Outlet at a great price, so I don't think your solution would work for me. Yeah, it bugs me too since I know it's there. I'll request a screen replacement since it came with a 3 year warranty.

I replaced my screen myself, since Dell didn't have the gloss option I wanted. Wasn't bad, about 75$ for the screen, and the swap took about an hour. I did it again recently for unrelated reasons, and was able to make it more like 15 minutes, since I wasn't figuring things out as I went.
