    You can use msi afterburner to monitor gpu clocks while gaming. It has graphs for gpu usage, clocks, memory usage, temps and few things more.

    I just got mine from ebay from a seller in china or something. It works fine, reports correctly and gave me a 15 or so FPS boost in a heavily modified Skyrim. :)
    Fan noise was crazy in games until I reseated the heat sink (It mustn't have been sitting quite right) but once I had it all sitting properly, it's fine. It is a little more noise than the K1000M but not too much, certainly not objectionable.

    I'll have a look at Afterburner, I have dual screens so I'll be able to monitor it in real time while I am gaming.

    @Terra, cool, thanks for sharing.

    New Question, Does the M4700 use the same optical drives as the M6700(ie: are they the same part numbers?) I remember the M6700 using 9.5mm drives, like the UJ-262, but was wondering if those and the slot loading drives from the M6700 would also fit the M4700's?

    Also had a question regarding 2x2 and 3x3, if I order the 2x2 and later upgrade to the 3x3(or an Intel 7260ac), will my initial choice affect the antennas that my M4700 will ship with? IE: if I order the the 2x2, and then later get an Intel 6300 (3x3) later and install it, will it only have a 2x2 antenna configuration on the lcd panel? Or will none of this matter?

    Optical drives from the M6700 will fit in the M4700. (Not sure if they use the same Dell part number, but they are physically the same.)

    I believe the M4700 ships with the full set of antennas no matter what configuration your order it with.

    Cool, thanks, yeah, I was wondering... like for example, the blu ray slot loading optical drive for the M6700 is this one here From what I gather.. and I was wondering if it would fit the M4700's... I hear there's something you have to do if you get the tray loading in order to make the slot loader's fit..something with the bezel but not sure.

    Thanks for the input regarding the antenna... heh... I had the system in my cart, went to pay for it, and then the operation timed out... thought to myself, "ah well, I could wait a little longer.."

    That drive you linked won't work, it's listed with a 12.7 mm height. M4700/M6700 require drives with a 9.5 mm height.

    UJ-262 will work but it is tray-loading. (I have a UJ-252, previous iteration of the drive, that I purchased and installed myself.) I believe there is a slot-loading 9.5mm drive out there but I don't know the model number. Maybe the one you listed is correct but only if they listed the wrong dimensions on the page.

    Sometimes the drives don't ship with a bezel (the front plastic piece, the only part you can see when the drive is installed in your machine), so you have to watch out for that. If it does come with a bezel, it probably won't match the color of your system perfectly. You can use the bezel that came with your current optical drive if it will fit.

    Hey Guys,
    did someone managed a clean Win8 UEFI install form Scratch whit Win8 DVD or Stick? I tried everything from Bios reset with biosbattery removal, all settings - secure Boot off and on but my M4700 wont boot from SSD after installing the new Win 8 Version. My previous Win8 Installation works fine with UEFI Boot after Repairdialog in the Same m4700. I also tried to clone the old SSD wich didnt work either

    I've done it without issue (on M6700).

    When booting the Windows 8 media make sure you are booting it via UEFI and not legacy boot. You will get both options in the F12 boot menu. If you don't choose UEFI, the Windows installer will not set up the drive with GPT partition format and EFI system partition (required for UEFI boot to work).

    Hey thanks for your fast answer. Ive done the same a few times and also disabled legacy boot in the bios. The first installation process went fine but after the first restart it returns to the installation process (if the GPT WIN8 media is in the laptopr oder the Win8 DVD from MS ) or wont boot from the new Partion.

    After Hours of reinstalling Windows and trying different boot methods i found an issue. The Old SSD is an Samsung 830 wich works fine after every reinstall in UEFI or Legacy Secure Boot on or off - but the newer 1tb Samsung 840 won´t be recognized in the bios after a reboot and so Win8 or any other System wont boot. What shall i do now?
