called them and they want to change the lcd panel....the last time they replaced just the connections.

i use it the most time just for photoshop stuff so i dont need the power of a m6700..and when you need to pay over 2000euro to get a machine with a monitor which doesnt make just problems there seem to be something wrong.
maybe i had just very bad luck so far.....when i dont come back in a month or two complaining about the monitor again it seems to be the case.

since i reinstall the system from scratch on the new ssd i got some problems with the monitor calibration (spyder4)

    premiere color version : 2.00.053

    nvidia quadro k1000M
    driver version 9.18.13.1110

in the spyder4 setup it doesnt show 100Percent ARgb, just 98 percent and when i do a profile proof the gamma, which should 2,2 is sometimes 2,8 or even above3

    now..could this be a driver problem..a spyder4 problem or a monitor problem(since i got it changed)

edit: it seems to be a system issue since i dont have any problems on my normal pc.
i will download the newest 64bit drivers from the dell website and reinstall the new system...maybe that will fix the issue.

on the dell website there some intel hd driver at the video area...when i try to install it it says my system doesnt fit the requirements. / edit: i asked that question the first time again here and found the answer. seems i dont need or can install it because of the screen i have.

Hi guys. Can I just post here or do I create a new thread? Sorry if it's interrupting things!

I got a new M4700 last month. I tried to get it with an IPS screen but it was no longer available. So then I was going to return the M4700 and get the M6700 with the IPS screen but then that was no longer available as well! Now only the Covet version has the IPS screen and it's glossy and way more expensive and dark (200 nits).

Really I just want to use the smaller M4700 and have an IPS screen for it. Where can I get an aftermarket RGB LCD that would be compatible with my M4700? (1920x1080 of course)

    Thanks for any help! :)

You should be able to find them on eBay.

The ones I can find are for M6400 only, on eBay UK at least.

Are the M4600 ones compatible with the M4700?

It is not upgradeable on m4700 iirc. They use different motherboards.

Crappy. Ok thanks. Wonder why Dell is no longer offering the IPS RGB screens for both the M4700 and M6700s? Where would I be able to find a compatible IPS panel for my M4700? Is there a list of LG, Phillips, Samsung or other models that are compatible that I could obtain?

If you know the part number, you can crawl through the internet to find more information and maybe come across a site that sells them.

There's a site that specializes in selling laptop screens, I don't remember the name but I think it was something like laptopscreens, saw it linked couple of times around here.

There is only 1 model made by LG.
The speculation for the discontinue for 15" was the corner tint issue, where the 17" is that they may have different setup for the forthcoming m6800.
