after doing the math i realized this laptop's performance is between a 9600m gt and 9700m GT closer to the 9700mgt WOW and imagine this is a "lower end" Quadro card i just cant wait to see what the 2700m's numbers are gonna look like.

I'm just concerned because Quadro cards use the same hardware as consumer Geforce cards, just with professional drivers. I'm not actually sure if the G96 core shared by the Quadro 770m and Geforce 9600m is one of the defective ones.

Not really much to worry about, you get a minimum warranty of 3 years on a m4400. Being a corporate model, I think we'll be okay when we need help.

Considering the fiasco with the latest D series, the inability to properly fix the problem aside from full speed fans or recalling motherboards, and the time and effort devoted by Dell in ensuring that the D to E (and in turn the M) series transition goes as smoothly as possible....

I highly doubt they would release the machine with a defective core. There's just too much money at stake in this segment of their business. I'm sure they've had a little sit-down with nvidia prior to release.

In short, this is one case where I would suggest being optimistic :D

    M4400 9CELL VS 6CELL BATTERIES:

I ordered a M4400 with similar specs to those of blindpan and cpaek...on August 14th - many days before they ordered their units, but they've already received theirs.

I'm wondeirng if the delay in receiving mine is due to my configuration containing a 9 cell battery.

So I ask has anyone received a M4400 with a 9 cell battery? Or have the shipments only been for units with 6 cell batteries?

If anyone who has already received a M4400 can tell us if the rippled cover feels like metal (cold) that would be great. I never did like the silver plastic on the supposedly mag alloy cover on the D series. Makes it feel cheap! :)

Unfortunately, it does not feel like metal - it's plastic. The notebook does look really solid and classy all around, but it would have been nice if it were metal.
