Ok, now I'm really going to bed. Installed and tried both Quake Wars and Crysis. Quake Wars plays at full everything at 1400x900 - 2x anti aliasing perfectly.

Crysis will play at High everything but in the low 20 frames range and maybe less. It's very playable, but runs really smooth when you switch all settings to medium except for texture at high. Didn't have a frame counter, but easily felt like I was running 30-40 frames a sec.

So, as far as games go, I think the m4400 will play almost anything as long as you don't max everything out on games like Crysis, but you don't have to set everything at low either. Definitely a mid/high range performer for games.

I'll get into more specifics this weekend, but that's all for now.

Use fraps or console commands to show fps in games.

Thanks for the updates cpaek72! I think the rippled lid looks cool and that display seemed plenty bright from your pictures. How hot does the laptop get when you stress it using Crysis/3DMark?

EDIT: Also, could you maybe take a picture of the power brick sitting on top of the laptop or next to a DVD case for a better idea of size?

The latptop does get hot when you stress out the graphics card. It's not an issue for me, since I don't plan on playing fps shooters on my lap. For normal day use, the temps are fine.

You haven't heard? A bunch of the Geforce 8 and 9 series mobile cards are defective.

You can read about it here, among other places.

    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4554

Just type "defective nvidia" into google and you'll see there's been a flurry of coverage about it.

Since the Quadro cards are basicly just Geforces with different drivers, some Quadros are also likely to be affected.

Yeah, I heard of the 8 and 9's, but haven't heard of any quadro's. We'll have to wait and see. No problems so far...crossing fingers.
