    As I♥RAM said X9100 is made for overclocking cause it has free multiplier but it's crazy to overclock notebook cpu untill u have some serious cooling for it. Yes it's top processor but who cares? who needs it? X9100 doesn't work for its money. And yes you can overclock ur P8600.

    I thought it was more of an issue of whether the Dell BIOS allows it.

    U can do it from windows, not so stable but the only way for most laptops.

    Have to try it someday then, never tried soft modding CPU. I know GPU can do that, now to try the CPU. :)

    Ok, just ran 3dmark and I scored 6148 in Windows XP. All default settings and didn't update my drivers at all. Looking into what the latest and greatest is for this quadro card to see if I can improve the score.

    The 9700M GT with a T9400 gets around 5700-5800 in 3DMark06 on Vista, so I think the OP's score might not be too bad. I'm more interested in real-world performance (games :p) anyway.
