I wanted to do the same with my e7240. I order that panel but it didn't work. That particular panel you linked is for a Lenovo. The screen itself was a tiny bit taller and would not sit flush like the Dell one. Also when I installed it it wouldn't even light up. Not sure if it was broken or just incompatible with the Dell video card. I'm in the process of shipping it back. I don't care if the panel is touch or not or if it's 13x7 or 19x10 I just want better viewing angles. The stock matte 13x7 is a joke. Bad backlight bleed and subpar viewing angles. Dell should be ashamed. I'm going to keep looking. Thanks.

They list as E7450/7450, I wonder if there will be multiple models of 7450?

Rather lame product PDF from Microsoft:

I'm really confused, on the outlet, I see the 7440 with 500GB HDD options, 256GB mSATA SSD option and 128GB Full Mini-Card Mobility SSD option?

Are there 3 separate/different connections in the 7440 to hold HDD and SSDs?! I'm assuming the 500GB HDD uses the standard SATA connection, so that's not the same as the 256GB mSATA option? And what is the Mini-Card SSD? Is that not a SATA interface but a PCIe interface?

The E7440 has a drive bay that will hold thin mechanical drives (hence the 500GB limit) or an mSATA SSD placed in what Dell calls an "interposer". There is also a mini PCIe / mSATA slot that can hold either an mSATA SSD or a WWAN card. The 128GB and 256GB SSDs are the same mSATA format.

Is anyone still experiencing the screen flickering issue? Currently having a few of our users experiencing this when connected to a Dell K09A dock running two monitors using DVI cables. Graphics drivers have been updated and refresh rate it set 60.

I myself run a E7240 with the same configuration but have no issues weirdly.

We've also installed the updated dock firmware which mentioned it should fix this issue but it hasn't for us. I've sent some of the users Display port cables today to see if this fixes it but its starting to really frustrating

Can confirm, allegedly 9-10 days for E7250 or E7240 depending on the option selected, although I don't know the retailer.

Surely sometime in January then. Dell didn't offer any help.. "as of now we do not have an exact date on the launch" when I asked them earlier. Probably after CES which is Jan 6-9.

Makes sense. We should see a lot of Broadwell notebooks at CES I hope.

Doing a search for E7450 on dell's yields this driver: Discrete Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 830M/NVIDIA Geforce 840M Driver Details | Dell US

It doeskin show the 7450 on the main compatibility page, but shows it in the search. That along with the Ubuntu info, yields a decent likelihood of discreet graphics.
