Thanks. It has the 14 Inch HD (1366x768) display. Is that the one you think is good? It appears the higher resolution one is a glossy screen and I definitely want a matte screen. Is this not a good display?

The HD (1366x768) screen is sub-par compared to the FHD in almost every aspect (viewing angles, brightness, color reproduction, etc.). I would not get the regular HD personally even if the other specs are good. The FHD version comes in both matte and glossy. Either is much better than the regular HD version, and matte vs. glossy is preference at that point and whether you want touch capabilities or not.

+100. Either of the FHD displays is what you want. They are both IPS panels and vastly superior to the HD screen, which is a typical mediocre TFT panel. I have the touchscreen and find touch to be surprisingly useful in Windows 8. Yes the touchscreen is glossy, but I haven't found this to be a problem. YMMV.

Thank you for the input. Sounds like FHD matte is the way to go for me. Looks like @$950.00 which seems reasonable. Now, will a coupon come out soon, that is the question!

If you're seeing i7/16GB/256GB with FHD for $950 I would jump on it. That is an awesome price for that spec, and there is no guarantee that it will be cheaper with a coupon, or even available in the Outlet when coupons next come out.

I've seen the same models for the 7440 in the outlet all week. so if that price is not a software glitch, you'll probably be able to get a very similar model later. in my experience, when there are 70+ units of a given model in the outlet, you'll be able to find what you want.

although, if I knew I was going to get a 7440, I'd probably just buy it now. only reason I'm waiting is because I'm thinking about getting the qhd+ precision 3800

edit: interesting, looks like dell got ~90 new 7440s sometime today and the prices have gone up about 20%

I am having exactly the same problem with my keyboard. It is extremely annoying, as I have to go back and edit everything I do.
I have tried to reduce the "repeat" rate of the key press but still no luck in fixing the issue. I have had laptops for the past 10 years (if not longer) and I have never had this issue before, and my typing style hasn't changed either ..... it HAS TO be the keyboard !!!!

Must correspond to their 20% coupon that was just released. I bought two earlier this AM - @$600.00 each net including the 3 year NBD warranty; i5, 256GB, FHD screen but only 4GB RAM. I'm moving RAM from one to the other and buying 16GB for the other one from another. I think a pretty good buy

Excellent buy! And yup, I strongly suspect that coupons don't generally mean lower net prices, because they seem to bump up the pre-coupon prices whenever coupons run.

can someone pm where to get a 20% coupon. I'm signed up through dell but I never get these coupons. Thanks. Also anyone using the d5000 wireless dock? I just bought this and was wondering if the bugs have been worked out of it. Thanks
