Thanks alexhawker for trying it out. I just tested it while sleeping on battery and it does charge too. It only doesn't charge when completely off. So I guess it can still be useful, but I have to first turn it on and put it to sleep before charging the phone. Seems like a bug in the BIOS to me. Anyone else with an E7440 experience the same thing?

Actually, I just heard from my rep today that there is a newer docking station coming out that will fit the 7000 series better. Take that with a grain of salt, but I'll keep pestering the guy until I can get concrete confirmation.

Does anyone else have issue with the trackpad "hesitating"? I will move my finger across, the pointer will stop and then pick up a second later. The interesting thing is that it moves as much as if it didn't pause mid-screen. Does not do that with a Bluetooth mouse which I use the most.

It'll likely be released this fall with the E7x50 series.

Yes touchpad is pretty crap in my opinion, really hate it, especially two finger scroll very unresponsive.

I just ordered E7240 with the 1080 touch display. I'm thinking of buying either Crucial M550 msata 512GB or Samsung 840 EVO msata 500GB. Anyone have experience that this two msata ssd can fit in the E7240 full mini card ssd slot?

any msata adheres to the same standard so it should work. Note when I put in a 2nd msata it was a hard fit because the wwan antennas are in the same spot. But you can barely squeeze it in. Personally I get the 500gb ssd becaue you can clone 500gb ssd to cheap 500gb rotational backup and a cloned restore is easy this way being the same size.

You mean you instal the msata ssd in the m2 slot that will be use to install the WWAN card (slot no. 6 in the pic)? That mean if i install the msata ssd in the slot where the default ssd installed (slot no. 2) it will be a easy fit right.

yes slot 2 is factory default install location. slot 6 works also. If running 1 msata I prefer slot 6 as the vent side gets hotter so I prefer redistributing a little heat and taking away heat from the vent area.
