    Yes, in the US...Roanoke, VA.

    I ordered it on Monday night last week (Apr 26th). Actually, the order was @ 1:50 am on the 27th. I just received it today at 10:30am, my wife just signed for it.

    It was originally slated for the order to be shipped on May 11th and received by May 17th on the order status screens. I had selected 3-5 day shipping, it left nashville on the 4th and I got it today.

    I have the new system and like it a lot.

    Ran Prime95 for 2 hours and it didn't get excessively hot. Even with the I7-620, heat is not a problem with this laptop. Fans are quiet until they hit full speed.

    Here are some windows experience index scores
    Processor = 5.7
    Memory = 5.9
    Graphics = 4.6
    gaming = 4.3
    Hard disk = 5.3

    This system is using the Intel HD graphics. The premium screen is very nice, but I generally do not like these 16x9 screens as they are too wide and too short. The screen is 1/2 inch shorter than my Inspiron E1505. It is also about a 1/2 inch wider as well.

    I have a few days to test this system until my SSD arrives. Until then, what interesting benchmark software should I run on the system? I curious about throttling issues and battery life.

    Yes, given what I know about the heat output of the system I'd now opt for an i5 or perhaps the dual-core i7.

    The processor and memory scores are lower than my E6400 with a P8600 CPU (6.0 and 6.0 respectively) while the graphics scores are better than my 4500MHD (4.1 and 3.4 respectively). Can you rerun Winsat?

    Other benchmarking software worth trying includes SiSoftware Sandra (which includes a useful database of other test results), PCMark and 3DMark.

    Received my E6510 yesterday (6 days ahead of original EDD). Here's my Windows Experience scores:

    Processor: 6.8
    Memory: 6.8
    Graphics: 4.6
    Gaming: 5.3
    Hard disk: 5.9

    i5-540, 8GB RAM, 1080p display, Intel graphics, Seagate 500GB 7200 rpm HDD, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit w/XPM, BT 375, Intel 6300 WiFi, backlit kbd, 8X DVDRW, fingerprint

    Heat definitely not a problem. The palmrests don't get hot like the Vostro or Studios. Underside of the laptop feels reasonably warm, not burning hot. Fan noise barely noticeable.

    Some quick surface temperature readings while system at idle:

    Left palmrest: 92F/33C
    Touchpad: 95F/36C
    Right palmrest: 93F/35C
    Center of keyboard: 90F/33C

    These 40 year old eyes are having no trouble reading the 1080p screen with fonts set to 125%. Fonts are totally smooth and clear. As I said in an earlier post, backlighting is totally even across the screen, no dark corners or dark spots.

    Only thing I'm not liking is an ever so faint seeking noise about every 10 seconds from the Seagate drive while it's idle. I notice this when I'm in a completely quiet room. I'm probably going to swap that for a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500GB (5400rpm) which are totally quiet in my experience.

    Another minor thing, curious if anyone else is having this issue... within the first couple minutes after Win 7 has restarted, the mouse pointer will hiccup every 20 seconds or so as you're dragging across the screen. I'm sure it's some background process or driver still initializing or searching for something. The hiccup goes away after a couple minutes and the system is totally smooth after that.

    My next major task is to create a Virtual PC image of my old Inspiron 6400 system and get that up and running on the E6510 XP Mode... Sucks that Virtual PC only supports a 127GB partition, so I've got some housecleaning and downsizing to do on the old XP system.

    Yes, definitely considering it. Figured I'd give VPC a shot since it's there and I kinda paid for it as part of the price of Ultimate...

    Well, I am running vista basic, and my scores are consistent.

    I tried disabling lots of apps and drivers using msconfig. Nothing changed.

    Processor = 5.7
    Memory = 5.9
    Graphics = 4.6
    gaming = 4.3
    Hard disk = 5.3

    I installed Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) and have better numbers to report...

    Processor = 6.6
    Memory = 7.2
    Graphics = 4.2
    gaming = 5.2
    Hard disk = 5.3

    64 bit OS probably gets better numbers as well
