any chances of better pics of it?, without that plastic protector, cause it looks really cheap and bad, sorry man, no offense here but i am looking for this laptop and i was waiting for the real pics not the ones from dell and i am kind of dissapointed with what i see.

Also you are saying the notebook isnt really quiet which is a main concern to me.., unlucky as i was really thinking of this one to be my next option..

I'll wait for follow up pictures, and put in my cancellation today if they confirm what's true.

I also wonder if these defects are a function of the factor they were built at. Could you comment on the quality relative to the D-Series (on keyboard, screen, build quality)? If these are improved, then I'm satisfied.

omg, I've been waiting so long for the E4300. after reading cof's lil preview (thx for that mate) it seems that this device isn't worth the money u actually pay for it. I can't even switch to another 13"-business notebook because the only alternatives I see are the sony z and the lenovo x301 but unfortantely these devices are way too pricey for me as a student. man i'm getting desperate now, hope dell manages to fix these faults soon.

If you want something cheaper have a look at Sony SR and Lenovo U330.

However, note the (minor? major?) flaws: VAIO SR has a constantly running fan and battery indicator problems; U330 has screen reflection problems because of its second gloss layer.

What is to try is Vista 64-bit on this machine. And the removal of all the junk.
All Vistas disk should be the same, so if you ask a friend (or download a non-cracked ISO) for their Vista 64-bit SP1 disk, using YOUR serial key for Vista it should work.

Hmm this laptop doesn't look good, especially for the price.
I mean the fan noise and circuit noise is a problem.

I have talked to dell, and they say that all these issues are resolved now. The answer was quick, so I don't know if the person just said this (lying) so that I buy the machine now or if he saying the truth. Can anyone can confirm this?
