    Here are my questions:

    1. Can anyone who has seen the E6400 describe the new LED screen? Is it as good or better than the MacPro (high-res, anti-glare version)?

    2. What ports are in the back? In the pictures, it appears that they are closed off by some kind of fold-down protector.

    3. Can someone tell me the weight of a 6400 with 6-cell battery included? What kind of battery life can I expect from the 6-cell?

    4. Does anyone know of any coupon codes that can be applied towards the purchase of this system?

    Thanks
    David

    2. The cover's only on the ATG. There's RJ-11, RJ-45, HDMI, and power.

Take a look at the E6400 manuals.

There is some weight information and pictures showing port locations.

I did some weight calculations here (but look at the subsequent posts).

Dell claim up to 19 hours with the 9 cell battery + the battery slice. That's with an SSD but represents a power drain of about 9W. This could mean a 6 cell battery might be squeeze up to 6 hours. I'm assuming 5 hours with anything more as a bonus. A 9 cell battery should pass 8 hours without too much difficulty but sticks out at the back by about 3/4".

I've been checking out the E series today and am so tempted to cancel my Lenovo X200 order, but the reason I decided on the X200 was its 10 hour battery life. The E4300 seems to have every thing I wished the X200 had such as an LED screen, optical drive, and a touch pad. If I were to order an E4300 I wouldn't get a battery slice so what kind of battery life should I expect with an E4300 and a 6 cell battery? Also does anyone know what the starting price will be?

Keep in mind that Windows XP requires a restart to switch graphics controllers. This negates the benefit for many users.

I haven't seen it, but the configurator doesn't let you specify matt/glossy, if you phone the sales rep, they *can* specify for you.

I think what you are describing as a "prottector" is the back of the battery, on the 4/6 cells it is flush with the rear of the screen, on the 9-cells it protrudes an inch or so. All the ports are on the sides, or the left/right edges of the back, none in the centre at the back.
