Thanks for the nice finding. Sadly, there`s no word about switchable graphics or details of the nvs 160m. 49$ for backlit keyboard is not wat I hoped for, thought backlight in keyboard would be standard. Only DDR2 Ram option is a bit disappointing. shipping starts in mid september is disappointing too. Add the the demand at the beginning and the time until they are available in germany, then you easily get mid til late octobre. I think, dell could lost some customers, because other companies are already selling their new centrino 2 labtops.

I hope detailed info about the e`s will come out next week, perhaps some info about new xps labtops too.

    Fattire,
Thanks for the pics and info. Does the e4300 have a connector on the bottom for the E-Port?

Someone please tell me that those ship dates are wrong. I have waited over a month for this labtop. If they are right I going to half to jump on the d830 sadly.

If the links act funny for anyone, go to Dell's site first and enter the Small Business division, then click on the links from the previous page.

My question is, do the laptops really have DDR2-800 ram in them instead of DDR3? I was going to go with Lenovo, but the ATI graphics and expensive DDR3 ram kinda pushed me away. I've got this config save in my cart:

I can get a 250gb 7200rpm Samsung hard drive and 4GB of DDR2-800 ram from Newegg for $204 to the door, which is a lot cheaper than Dell's upgrades.

I believe the Duke Latitudes were pre-configured units and so they might very well be delivered to Duke by August 18, which would be a week after the almost-confirmed Tuesday launch. On the other hand, remember how the pictures they had were basically photoshopped XPSes? So, that August 18 date could have been an estimate.

I'm the one who is supposed to get it at Duke on August 19th. I have emailed the computer department and asked if they will still arrive by then. I haven't gotten a response. My school guaranteed them by August 19th, so maybe I'll get it for free if it is later than that.

If I could get a second laptop at the same time, how much do you think it would go for on eBay?

Hmmm good question. I would guess that the mobile broadband hardware isn't 'locked' like most cellphones, and if it is you should be able to get it unlocked since you are paying full price for the hardware.

Can someone who has an at&t/gsm built-in mobile broadband card say if there is a spot for the SIM card to be snapped in?

and fwiw...I think tethering is a better option for wireless broadband access (unless your company pays for the hardware/service)
