My laptop this is replacing is a E6410 I'll try an put up a pic showing both on full brightness. That to was a touchscreen but if I remember right when I bought it was considered “sunlight viewable"

To me the difference is very noticeable. I don't notice much glare or at least it doesn't bother me.

    Thanks

Well, I was prepared to let my work ntb being replaced by new 7450, but am confused a bit. I definitely want second hdd and now I can read lot's of posts about it not being easily possible? My other question is the design - why on earth did they change nice silver design of 7440 to that black nonsense? I haven't found a decent photo on the internet yet, and yes, I am after the design too. I would go with the e7440 instead, but I wanted new 5300U CPU and 5000 HD graphics :-( Also the keyboard looks stupidly and the touchpad bigger (I never use touchpad anyway). Now - what should one do, right?

    Hi,

About to order a 7450 but can't decide between the touch or non-touch, what is the general consensus here? I'll be running a touch OS (8.1+), but hate finger prints..

Currently have an XPS 13 9333 and tend not to actually use the touch all that often.. see comment above about finger prints ;)

    Ty!

P.S. Ignore any other enforced spec change, only concerned with the screen tbh..

I'm currently running 8.1 without a touchscreen and never found myself "missing" it. I also can't stand finger prints or glossy displays.

Here is the screen with light on an off

The old E6410 is on the left (5years old). The E7450 on the right is very dim considering there both touch screens on full brightness. I've already set up a return. Just for another opinion I asked several people at my work. Everyone agrees.

I received mine today, touch version also. Leaks look the same on my PC. I don't mind. Looks like a feature as if display is pressed, the leak happens everywhere :).

That E7450 screen doesn't look correct for sure.

For a quality 1920x1080 touch screen display, that brightness looks TOO DIM to me.

I am just wondering whether your unit was defective or not....

We may not know unless someone else posts the same problem...

I wish I could say its defective but I doubt it. The Dell rep hasn't completed the return process she is still waiting from approval or whatever they do. I hope there is a problem cause besides that this thing it s great
