Your best bet is to check with the manufacturer to make sure it will fit. I did that with my caddy.

So have you noticed that the battery life is low even when you do not overclock?

See if newmodeus.com has one for this model. Their caddy worked great for my machine.

Only 680MHz? Well, than I'm certainly lucky with my GPU, but I guess repasting with coolaboratory pro helped too! It keeps temperatures lower and allowing higher frequency... The battery time is might low, because power consumption is around 19W at Idle. Fortunately it is not important me, I'm using it only from wall. And for the keyboard I have no complain, expect i miss the backlit option. I think backlit a minimum for latitude series!

Yeah, I repasted a few months ago, I should be good for at least another 2 months. I am sure this is just a low end bin of this board. i will need to get this thing replaced soon anyways, the temp sensors on the gpu are bad and show 0 randomly.

On the keyboard note, yes I agree with you, I would love a backlit keyboard. I talked to Dell support and there is no other compatible keyboard for this laptop, which is a damn shame.

Also it isn't that bad. I am pretty happy because now I can play DOTA 2 with out any FPS lag when big explosions happen.

ok I mistook CPU instability for my GPU Overclock being too high. I'm at 750mhz core now. I will wait to see what happens from my new mobo

Holy crap you guys! I haven't checked up this thread (or this site for that matter) for a few months and you folks have been turning your 8850's into 8890's?! Hot damn!

I think I'll give this overclocking stuff a try when the weather cools down.

Not sure if anyone out there is looking for one of these, but there is a coupon on the dell outlet business site for 35% off and there is an i5/AMD/1080p for 599 - the 35% off. Makes it a stellar deal. I grabbed one to mess with.

As for installing the SSD... I have used a few apps to clone the drive but one worked so-so and another was just horrible (didn't load everything and after everything I was missing some drivers). What cloning software do you guru's suggest for an SSD install? I would do a fresh install, but don't have a windows 8 key, just an upgrade from 7 key that has not worked for a fresh install in the past.
